Syrian I Just Snagged

Recommended Posts

The guy I got it from said he got it from demascus syria.

Paid 48 shipped for it :-)

I would have grabbed more but the others were all 2+ hoses which I am not a fan of.

What do you guys think based on brand? I really don't know much about Syrian pipes. Either way looks like it should be a nice solid rig.

I hope it is, I have nours, kms, farida, elmas's, MZ's, generic syrians (possibly nawras) and the only other stem i've wanted was an al nawras, so yay if that is what it is.

The down stem is actually 7 inches which is great because it will fit nicely on a 12 inch boho unlike most syrian stems.

Reasons I think it is an Al Nawras:

1. Dual-tone is seen in some Nawras models.
2. Tray holder top piece is seen in many Nawras models.
3. That style purge and hose port are commonly found on Nawras models.
4. The nut welded onto the bottom of the downstem is found on many Nawras models (including mine).

;)

YAY, yah the generic syrian I got that many claim to be an al nawras, does not have a nut on it and came with a cheap ass tray.

Post up pics of your other Syrians. I or others will probably be able to ID them as Nawras or not. I'm no specialist but maybe I can help. Some others on here know a good bit more than I do, though.

Thing about Nawras is they vary quite a bit in terms of what tray holders, hose ports, purges, etc. they use. Not like Khalil Mamoon where it's "Oh, it's got the typical KM hoseport and purge valve, and the tray rest has the lotus symbols on it... It's a KM." Much harder to judge if an Al Nawras is actually an Al Nawras. Take a look at their website and see just how much they vary:

Lol, yes, they call them Hubbly Bubbly. So silly. Anyway, tons of pics to look at there for reference when trying to ID a Nawras model. Note that not every Nawras model is on that site.

Ill check out the link, I can upload a pic of the generic syrian at some point when I have a minute to take a pic and upload it.

It is the same shape as the AF large except it is all brass color, no silver pieces.

Oh, you mean like my Syrian I got recently? (Check the link in my sig: -Brass Syrian With Syrian Trumpet Vase) I want to say it is Al Nawras, based off the knowledge that Nawras did indeed make the Al Fakher line of hookahs, and this one is almost exactly the same as the AF Large Solid model. Only reason I have not labeled it as Nawras is because when I asked Eric he said he didn't think it was, but that it looked like a very solid hookah regardless.

Gotta right-click each image and click "Open in Another Tab" or "Open in Another Window," and then you should see it perfectly fine, much larger.

Yep, supposedly all of the hookah manufacturers in Syria are located in Demascus.
