Hookah Health And Parental Opinion

Recommended Posts

So, in my opinion, Shisha really isn't that bad for you. If anyone knows the Youtube channel: TrueHookahKing, I have watched his videos about the truth about Hookah and he did all of research about it and why it isn't as bad as you think it is. It's legitimate too. On the other hand, my mother recently started nagging about it to me (she found out I did it here and there) because she thinks it's bad for you and says I don't want you getting emphysema like your Grandpa. On Facebook, she posts on my wall the BS truth about it that researchers have made. She got it from Dr. Oz. I'm thinking, really? No one knows how bad it really is. Most of the articles you read online about the truth of Shisha is all complete crap anyways. Bottom line in any case: Anything you smoke is bad for you.

How about you show her some info from a true researcher and not a bro that says fuck every two words. His language reduces the credibility. If I'm correct in the spelling look up kamal saouchi. Others should know who I'm talking about if I'm spelling it wrong hich I probably am

... and as a Side Note don't take anything THK takes seriously, valid, credible or in the realm of "should be tolerated by society."
He's the annoying cousin we wish no one would associate us hookah smokers with.

Well, actually I have seen his videos on Youtube.

He seems to be a truehookahauthority and I would bet my health on what he says. Obviously.

Compare your mom who cares about you and wants to see you live a long healthy life to a guy on youtube named truehookahking. There is no comparison. I'm going with the douche on youtube.

I'm lucky. My mother has never nagged me about anything. She's 77 and has been dipping snuff since she was 6. I guess I was born with nicotine in my veins.

Life's short. Enjoy some of it before it's gone. If you stopped doing all the things that could possibly do you harm, you might get a few more years of life, but what a miserable few years they'd be.

The last few years of your life when you are dying of cancer sounds pretty miserable, too.

Please don't take TrueHookahKing seriously...

Explain to your mom how hookah tobacco differs from cigarettes. Cigarettes are burned, hookah tobacco is cooked rather. This is why TAR is not produced in hookah tobacco, because combustion does not occur. Add on top of that the hundreds of chemicals they put into cigarettes. You don't become addicted to hookah, atleast not physically, because you aren't smoking it regularly all day everyday like cigarette smokers who keep nicotine in their system all day and therefore get dependent on it.

Show her the research done by that guy Coleman mentioned. Then remind her you are of age to be partaking in this hobby and she should respect your decisions and let you be an adult.

Nicotine alone is fairly safe in small doses. I get most of my nicotine from Swedish snus.

It's the stuff that can come along with nicotine that can kill you fast, like the tar and chemicals in cigarette smoke. Hookah smoke has very little of the harmful things. Plus you don't smoke it all day every day.

I think the point is that we really do not know how harmful hookah smoke.

Let me start off by saying I am not a doctor, and anything I say is opinion based. I will gladly agree that hookah smoke isn't near as bad for you as cigarette smoke, but I think anything you put in your lungs that isn't intended to be in there (in this case smoke) is going to be bad for you. How bad exactly? Who knows? But your body does heal itself, and as long as you don't do it all the time, your body shouldn't be too bad off... at least in comparison to cigarettes.

As far as the whole mom dilemma goes, I kind of have the same issue. She doesn't like when I smoke with my friends and she always brings up my grandma and how she died from smoking. I take it as a sign of love and concern and I hope you do too. You just have to show how it differs greatly from cigarettes and maybe find some good research like maybe the stuff previously posted or just anything from a good, solid source.

At the end of the day all forms of smoking are bad for your health but some are more unhealthy than others. If your mother doesn't approve don't smoke in her house or at least around her. Show her some research from Kamal as I stated earlier.

Thank you for the feedback guys, appreciate it. Also a big thanks for the resources on this. Obviously I know that anything you smoke is bad for you, bottom line. I don't smoke Hookah every day and I am not willing to. I never smoked weed or cigs in my life and I was never that person to enjoy smoking at all, I don't even like it in general. I do Hookah at most twice a month. I recently smoked it 4 times and I am cutting back on it for a while. I do understand that my mother shows love and care. I'm glad she does, but when it comes down to her nagging about it or being sarcastic about it, it's quite annoying. Typical of her though. About the THK thing, I don't take every word for what he says. There are definitely other things that come into effect about the health of it all.

I received this article from Dr. Kamal Chaouachi a few days back. Try reading it and showing it to your mom.

Also, don't fight with her because that never goes well, but try and reason with her, and as as Chris said, tell her that you're an adult now and can make your own decisions.

Thanks for the article Vendetta, will def give it a nice read through and show my mother. I don't fight about it, we usually leave it off forgotten or unsaid about.

+ Thanks to Ray (Venger) for suggestion of steam stones.

Just challenge your mom to a no holds barred battle royale. If you can't beat your mom up, you can't smoke anymore. Everyone else here has done it, man.
