Darkman1692
I'm returning to hookah after about 4 years. I just received my mya vento last week with four different brands of shesha, a phunnel bowl and some QLs Now my issue that I hope someone has a suggestion or two. With both the phunnel and stock unglazed bowls with every brand of shesha I get No or very weak flavor? With density of smoke verying between weak and massive clouds. I've tried packing the bowls different ways, "sprinkling" shesha, packing it tight, all the way to the rim or just a small amount. With heat management I've tried as little as half of one QL to having the bowl completely covered. I remember rich flavorful smoking sessions, PLEASE help me get those back? vendetta_revived
Weird. What tobaccos are you using? I can't really think of much right now that could be affecting your session, but are you letting the QL's light all the way till they are ashed over? Also, are you using really chilled water? It can lessen the flavour, but should not kill it imo. Since your hookah is new, I am assuming, so is the hose? Because if it's an old one, it could be rusted or ghosted. mushrat
That is almost always a sign of too much heat.
Coyote
Yeah... I don't know about other brands of tobacco besides Tangiesr but usually when i'm getting dense clouds and smooth smoke its an acclimation issue. Mostly when a right before, during, and/or after a storm. Thats when I usually start smoking AF DA and mastic. They are my rainy day tobaccos

â€On
I think providing us with the brands of tobacco and the brands of quicklites will help us sort this a bit better.

Skoozle
the tobaccos are starbuzz guava, Romman guava, Al Tawareg strawberry, Al waha strawberry, Im using three kings 40mm quick lights. and yes I smoke cigs, cigars, regular pipe tobacco and occasionally dip
Were you doing this four years ago when the flavor was great? I have been doing snus for a while and I have noticed that I have a hard time getting intense flavor like I used to. I think the snus is dulling my taste buds. If you have started using the other tobacco products in the last four years, that might explain the loss of flavor, if you've been doing them all along, then that's probably not your answer and hopefully we can help you tweak your setup to get you that great flavor you remember. Darkman1692
Ive been smoking cigars, and pipes for 10 years, cigs and chew for 6 years I also thought the other tobacco products might have dulled my taste buds so I had my friend taste and they also reported weak flavor. Tonight I'm allowing the shesha to acclimate longer then I normally would and lowering the heat a bit.
kenshinx23
let the coals sit on the bowl for about 10 mins before smoking. Try it.
HookahCousins
try making sure that the tobacco isnt packed down and fluff it up and make sure the coals are burned and ready to go all the way through .
DrSmokes
Is it a rusty pipe? A bad/old hose? Using anything besides water in the vase? Is the tobacco old or has it sat out for long periods of time? I've only had diminished flavor when I've smoked out of my friends rusty pipe (didn't know it was rusty at the time...asked him why it sucked ass in flavor and he said the pipe was rusting). So if a friend has another pipe, maybe see if you can try smoking out of that one.
Pavo21
well i agree with mush if its not smoking with flavor its probably to much heat. Also you could be the way you pack it, and last but not least it could be the tobacco
