Tall Stem, Short Vase? How Much Clearance Do You Need?

Recommended Posts

Thinking of selling off the syrian stem and keeping the eggerman boho listed in this thread: http://www.hookahfor...ium-superchief/

But only if I could get the HJ's new El Nefes Gazi stem (21" total length) to fit in there. The problem is, there is 9" from top vase to the bottom. And John told me the Gazi will drop 8.5". That leaves .5".

Is that enough room for the rig to function? Would that cuase any kinda restriction?

Think it will look funny??

Yeah it will function, it won't cool the smoke much, but it will function....

...and then there's always a hacksaw....

I owned that boho, and I can say it will not only look funny, but won't clear (I tried with the KM I had at the time). You'd definitely have to cut the downstem to have it fit. But it will still look awkward...

I dont mind cutting the down stem by an inch or two, im just worried its going to look to top heavy.

Might be heading down to LA. Mabey ill bring the vase with me and give John a call to see it in person in the vase.

That sounds like a safe bet. :)

If you look at his last video he puts the Giza in the Egerman genie base which 10.5in and it barely clears that. At least from the angle he had. The Pasha though no problem at its a short downstem. Edited by dzigner
