Mya QT stems...

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any pictures of the different stems and their names? -I've been trying to find out and have been seeing lots of different types, but am finding it difficult to identify which is which and the order in which they were released.(Also, I read somewhere about the angle of the hose connector in some the QTs having an adverse effect on smoking (i.e. being too shallow and not at a steep enough angle or something) -can anyone shed any light on this.)

Cant really give you a pic of the diffrent stems, just of mine which as far as i know, is the one youd get right now if you ordered from HS or Mya directly:As for the hose connector, its fine. Its the purge valve that has problems. Which i now face myself. The way its angled and its postion on the stem, it means that it doesnt clear out all the smoke like it should. Theres already a thread on this and they have come up with some good homemade fixed. Search button anyone? :D

Just for the record, the picture EvansLight posted is of the S-Class stem. I have one myself -- it's nice and wide and draws very well. Only problem is that it's a bit difficult to clean because the "hand grenade" part of the stem is so wide that most brush bristles won't be able to scrape the sides very well. Also, the inside of the stem has a very rough texture, making it more difficult to clean well.
what if you hose down the stem in the inside ? will it rust ?
no. And i have had no problems with cleaning my stem. The brush HS gave with it works fine. I use compressed air also to blow out most stuff. Add in the brush and some lemon and water, and its perfectly cleaned everytime :D

You can shoot as much water as you want through a stem, you're still gonna get all that green junk when you run a brush through there.
