Teganv
If I had more time and more money then I would be all for finding a place to paint a hookah the way I want it but for now I will look at finding those solid black stems specifically one that would fit in the vase i posted a picture of or one that is similar to it. Thanks for the suggestions though guys.
Teganv
Alright so I would either be ordering this: http://www.5starhook...k-New-KMFB4.htm It has the base I want and I like that stem, and it has the flat black tray too. Now I just have to find $170 since shipping will probably be about $10 and tax would be somewhere around that too. *sigh* Then I would have to get a washable hose for it. Chreees
Glad you found what you like! Any KM will treat you right. Do you have to pay tax in California if you order from a place that is located in California (I know 5Star is located there). If so, that sucks. Our governor here in TN just passed a deal where Amazon could build a new distribution warehouse here only if they start charging sales tax on all orders starting in 2013. And for whatever reason, they were also required to send out a mass email to all of their TN customers saying that they may owe taxes on items purchased in 2011. Doesn't make a damn bit of sense, but whatever. I know, I know, not totally related but somewhat... I saw this coming is all I can say, because so many people order online these days to skip the taxes (and because items tend to be cheaper online anyway).
Yep still have to pay taxes for 5star, but after looking, it would actually be cheaper to buy the stem and base separately rather then buy the hookah with grommets, stem, bowl, base, hose, etc. So maybe I'll do that instead since I don't need the bowl after just ordering a better (also black) one yesterday. I wonder if the grommet's it comes with are black though, it would blend in better then my white/clear ones. I would probably be ordering a hose from Nazar since I like the one he sent with my other hookah and the plus of them being washable. That's interesting about the Amazon deal, lucky for TN people haha. Edited June 27, 2012 by Teganv
Pavo21
I know all km's come with the black grommet atleast the 30 km's we have Definitely did --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?0yx3hf
Teganv
Well it looks like my game plan has sadly changed. I'm looking to downsize haha. I recently was required to spend a large amount of cash, which was going towards the new hookah setup. Since I have always liked the small Mya pipes, I might be looking at one of those. At least this way it will be easier to clean since I no longer have a nice big kitchen sink to clean my hookah in, and little to no space to keep my hookah. Sigh. So now I have to decide between a QT, Petite, Bambino, or Vento. I really wanted my jet black hookah.
bambino
I can't say I am a fan of the spike ball that makes up the base of the bambinos. Stuie
Go with Powder Coating. A former Forum Member got this done for me Barbie Pink with Glitter in it.
Teganv
Wow haha, well if I could find someone who could do that then I would get probably a QT, and have it powder coated flat black. Since I still wouldn't be able to afford the larger jet black hookah setup that I want.

bruceg
There's plenty of sites online that offer powder coating for good prices. Just google it and tons of places will come up.
Teganv
Yeah, I might do that. I don't know I would personally just rather buy it already painted just because I would have to pay for shipping for the stem then ship it out again, pay for the powder coating, and pay for shipping back to me. Which I feel would add up quickly. The cheapest place I could find a Mya QT, was on SouthSmoke. I haven't heard much about them on here so whats the verdict on ordering from them? Chreees
Yeah, the tray the QT comes with is extremely tiny, meaning your carpets/hardwood are not safe whatsoever. I had to throw a bigger one on the few I owned. Just order a large Mya tray, that'll do the trick.

Teganv
Never mind, I see that the inside diameter is probably waaay to big for a tiny QT.
Teganv
I don't want to pay $15 for a tray though, so maybe I will just try and survive with the tiny tray for a while.
Coleman
The tray is fine shit my medium Chinese phunnel took up majority of the tray to where you couldn't just push a coal off the bowl BUT I never dropped a coal
Teganv
Well, just ordered my QT, and some steam stones. I have money coming my way soon so I will be getting a new tray in the near future. Although I love the flat black hookah and trumphet vase, I think I am better off with this just because of my limited living space, and the fact that I travel a lot, so now I have a much more portable hookah to take along with me if I want.
