Urloc
Ok now I have discovered I am an A grade moron. First thing I must say in my job I usually find myself in a situation where I think "Why those morons don't look at the tutorial instead of making questions?" and well, I have looked in this forum for weeks when I had a doubt but it seems I missed the most important points, as a result: - I hever made a circular pattern in my bowl, I just plucked 10 holes or so in the middle, never in the outside. - I did not do it in the outside because I thought it was useless since I put my quick light in the middle, just one. - I just lit it, placed it in the foil and start smoking without waiting for the black shit to burn. And I was wondering if the bad taste was because the sisha was not hot enough. - I never filled the bowl only placed the sisha in the bowl as it comes out of the 50g box, a pinch of it, don't make it loose or anything. - I filled the water to around 1cm over the stem. The sick part of it is that I loved it!! And I was doing it utterly wrong... After all what I have seen in this site I think tomorrow it will be my first day smoking hookah properly and I really look forward to it.

Urloc
If it wasn't because I have the aircon on in a closed room with my gf sleeping like a log, I would prepare it right away.
â€On
One of these days I want to make a video comparing how I smoked 5 years ago with how I smoke now. I have learned so much from this place, and I always love seeing someone who is getting that same "wow" revelation from it as I did. Like Luka (Bawhee) said, you're going have your mind blown trying out all the new things available to you.

Urloc
So, this is how i made the holes and placed the charcoals. Just for the record the setup is 1m or so hookah. The bowl you see in the picture 2 quicklight charcoals, lowest quality possible. Al Ajamy 2 apples (It is the one I had open). Osmotized water with ice in the base

They have no brand hahaha I smoked the first round of them and my impression was that this is a totally different experience. - Now I do not need to smoke my lungs off to get a thin string of smoke, I smoke like a fucking dragon - I notice the buzz, till now I never did - It tastes much more to the flavour, but maybe not much enough... probably the brand I guess - I was so fond of it that I tried to smoke and smoke and no smoke came in, I thought I screwed it up again but the "problem" was the charcoals were completely consumed. I put new ones now. Before, when the charcoal was half burnt it was almost impossible to smoke of it, now it tasted good until they were completely off. Will keep smoking this round and see how much it lasts.

I did not put 2 halves because I thought there will be not much heat since these charcoals are 25mm opposed to the usual 40mm ones I had before. In this round I put 2 halves. Urloc
By the way is it really necessary a wind cover to smoke indoors?
vendetta_revived
By the way is it really necessary a wind cover to smoke indoors?
No. it just makes things easier when it comes to heat management, in my experience anyway. On my egyptian bowl, I find 2 coals to be not enough heat, and 3 to be too much heat, so I just use 2 with a wind cover and it is perfect heat. It just adds a touch of heat to the bowl and that gets things going nicely. Also, i may be wrong, but I think that the heat it adds doesn't burn the bowl, as opposed to another coal, because the heat it adds is indirect. Skoozle
The wind cover adds a slight level of insulation to the system. With a windcover, more of the heat energy from the coal gets to the tobacco and doesn't just dissipate into the surrounding air. You can burn the bowl by adding a windcover because it just increases the rate of heat energy going into the tobacco and once you cross a certain point the tobacco leaf will begin to burn as opposed to just the molasses vaporizing. It may, however, be rare to burn a bowl with a windcover because it is such a small increase in heat that you would have to be pretty close to burning the bowl for a windcover to push it past the limit. In which case, you wouldn't be inclined to use a windcover anyway because it should be smoking pretty darn good at that point without the windcover. Urloc
Thanks for the help guys. So, I will post my overall experience today: The taste was much more clear than before, although maybe the brand Al Ajamy is not good for 2 apples. I will try it with AF on Sunday. I also smoked waaaay more, with a white smoke instead of grey. The taste also tasted much longer and I could feel some buzz. What I really felt and I can not describe very well is that today I felt "full". When I smoked before it was like I wanted to smoke more all the time, like I was not pleased. Today just after the 1st round of coals I already felt "full" so the second round I smoked it much, much slower. Overall, a very pleasing experience today and will smoke again on Sunday while watching the eurocup final Although I live in Thailand I am Spanish and I think smoking it while I watch the match will relax me hehe. My next plan is to buy natural coal, I have never seen a place selling coals for hookah here but Thailand is full of coconut trees and I am pretty sure finding just natural coconut coal will be easy although i may need to cut it in cubes myself.
