Whiteshadow
after recieving my hookah from h-s.com (great customer service btw) my buddies decided we should head to the local shops to pick up some more goods. I almost wish I knew about them earlier. 2-3 dollars for 50g of anything, picked up a 250g jar of hookah hookah grape for 8 dollars, box of quick light coals for 3 dollars (three crown, works just as well as golden rolls or the three kings box my buddy picked up for 10) and then I saw a wall of mya qts and acrylics for like 40-45 each. I wasn't even aware they made the stems in gold. not that i'd like gold anyway, but still. Getting deals like this makes me wonder if I should bother with online shops at all or just stay local?I should also probably mention that the local area is dearborn, michigan. Known to have a high population of arab-americans (the second largest Arab population of any community in the United States) so that may be a factor. is it like this for anyone else, or did I luck out? Scalliwag
for the most part you lucked out. Support your local people. Take care of the ones that take care of you.
joetuo
I don't know if that is a real deal, from h-s.com you get the QT for 49.95 then $55 worth of free stuff and a 15% forum discount. So I would have to say h-s.com has the edge on the local shop, unless you get $55 worth of free stuff and a 15% discount
novicafe
I may drive down to dearborn. Its only like a 25 minute drive for me.
ioannisds
I've got a shop very close to my house, and it is a flippin' rip off. $5 for ONE ROLL of Golden coals.
unleashtheclown
I buy my coals and nahklah locally, but I dont have such a huge selection locally. I'm very thankful I can get coals and nahklah locally though becuase it saves on shipping and when You're all out You can get it fast.
web250
My local shop is very fairly priced. My favorite deal there is Havana 50g for $3. Romman is standard priced ($5). They carry lots of AW too. And some Fumari

Lukasa
I get coals and basic stuff bowls, nakhla, etc from my local shop. But i need to go online to find the really good shishas.
Joseph
I always buy local, for everything. My old room mate bought the hookah online from somewhere, and when he moved he gave it to me, but I have never again bought something online.
nuschultz
I normally buy online. My local place is an absolute ripoff.

DizzyGuy
Yeah, online is better for me. Not a rip off like locally... before I moved out here there wasn't anywhere I could get hookah products around me so I HAD to order online or make a road trip
Jachred
LOL I was just getting on here to make my first post about the same thing.. Looks like we Shop at the same place.. There are a couple good shops over there though.. My customers turn me on to the 'local' places insdead of the Big tobacco places.. Very good prices 3$ for any kinda of 50g.. and the big jars mix/match of Al-Fahker for 20$/lb (Or a little less maybe.. ) Plus no sales tax/shipping on it.. I was very happy.. (Some of the 50g's were 2$ but none were over 3) Though i did pay 10$ for the quicklite three crowns.. (Prolly same as kings, just cant call it king cuz its from over there) but good CS, Scooped the tobacoo into the tubs and everything.. Good deal.. If I couldnt find somthing there I'd buy online, but i dont see the point of waiting for my favorite flavors.. :)Jachred

ksblazer
I do both. I've found shisha at a few smoke shops around town. Tinderbox at the mall sells AW for $2.50 for 50g's and Fantasia (I think that's what it was)for $3. The closest store to me sells Romman for $5 for 50's. They all sell Golden QL coals for $3 a roll. I'm going to continue to partonize my local stores for some things as I don't have to pay for shipping, but a majority of my $$ will go to the online retailers.
