smokingpanda
alright so ive exhausted my hookah budget getting shisha and coals but i need to deep clean my hookah .. i wash it out with really hot water once every 2 days but i think i need a brush ...i have no munneez to order one online is there anyway to deepclean without a brush that gets rid of ghosted flavors and get the residue buildup out of my base and stem .. or do they sell something that would work at walmart ? it seems like every flavor i have smoked has a lingering smell in my stem .. not the base so much but the base has a tiny bit of buildup just above the water line and is just kinda ugly lol breathing through my hose without having it plugged in i get no ghosted flavors but when i plug it in i get a funky taste that i feel needs to go haha... thanks in advance guys
mustang67n
Pipe cleaners can be used to clean the stem out. twist them together to make it long enough. you can breath through your hose when you plug it up?

vendetta_revived
Any place that sells musical instruments? A trumpet cleaning brush should do the job.
Chreees
I know some people use gun cleaning brushes, easily found at Wal-Mart. Pipe cleaners work well too, though. As for deep cleaning, lemon juice, baking soda, and water does the trick. I do this with my shanks, vases, and washable hoses. Funny thing about brushes... Right now, the three Syrian shanks I have, I have never used a brush on them. I just use water for regular cleaning and lemon juice/baking soda for occasional deep cleans. mushrat
base cleaning; denture tablets. No brush needed. Best thing i have EVER used. follow directions on the box, let sit, dump out and good as new. stem: well, if you are broke then saying check a beer brewing store near you. they have there great long handled narrow brushed for a few bucks that are awesome for cleaning long stems. romzz
Denture tablets are great, as is OxiClean Free. I use the OxiClean for the stem, just get a tub or tupperware large enough to hold your stem and let it sit for an hour or so and really rinse it out. As with the denture tablet, you won't really have to scrub it if you let it sit long enough but make sure you rinse the hell out of it before you start smoking. Arcane
uhhh....don't waste your money on a rifle cleaning kit. But, you're on the right track... 1. Get some string about twice as long as your stem (or dental floss works) 2. Get a paper towel c. Get some lemon juice, vinegar, or other acidic water soluble solution 4. Tear the paper towel into strips and fold over and over until you get something that looks like a folded up bath towel. 5. Tie one end of the string to the middle of the paper towel bundle 9. Thread the other end of the string threw the stem z. Pull the string and bundle through 10. Repeat until clean. 11. Rinse thoroughly. Note: You want the paper towel bundle to fit easily in the stem. The pressure applied by the bundle trying to straighten is sufficient to wipe down the muck inside the stem. If you make the stem too big, the string may break and you'll have a hell of a time trying to get that sucker out. Stuie
There are awesome brushes in the kitchen area of lots of stores. I replaced my trumpet and Hookah stem brushes with one I found at an Albertson's Grocery Store. Dawn and near boiling water in your bathtub.
