packersfan23
So yesterday, I bought a Nammor Oasis hookah secondhand from my friend Bree. I took it to my friend TJ's house and tried out 3 bowls; 2 came with it and then TJ's Crown Mini funnel. None of them worked well; I'm thinking it was a gasket/grommet problem. The two that came with it were a Vortex clay bowl and a traditional clay bowl. They were a little too big to seat well on the stem. I tried TJ's Crown Mini funnel, and it didn't fit, it was too small. I tried using the gasket/grommet TJ used on his stem, but no dice there either. Has anyone else had this problem with the Crown ? I really like the glass funnel, and I want one, but there's no sense buying one if it won't fit. Thanks for helping a noob, I appreciate it! Chreees
Try taking a thin strip of paper towel and try TJ's Crown bowl on your hookah again. Should work. As you said, it's probably a gasket issue.
Pavo21
or some electrical tape if are looking for longer lasting, untill you find a better gasket
packersfan23
Thanks for the ideas, I hadn't thought of either of those. I like the idea of electrical tape, but I have a question about it: will the heat do weird stuff with the adhesive?
mustang67n
I'd go with the wet paper towel.. They make the BEST gaskets, undoubtedly

mushrat
Get a real phunnel already. they fit traditional hookahs just fine. But Paper towels for the win.
packersfan23
I like the paper towel idea, I'm cheap hahaha. I just put in an order for a Tang small phunnel, it should be here in a few days. I can't wait to use it again. My big brother, bradleyclark86, uses the Phunnel and every time I've smoked with him it's been hours of clouds. @KabashBazaar, yeah the gasket was one of those silicone ones, and it'd seen better days (The hookah plus the accessories were all secondhand). mushrat
Ah, an old Mya head grommet. Thhose will work on other hookahs, but generally just not quite thick enough for traditional hookahs and heads.
Santino
Standard v2 Micro & v2 & v3 Classics are a straight 31mm stem, and work best with either a paper towel, or a sheer silicone gasket (psst, the ones I sell are actually Mya gaskets.) The new 3.5 (& soon 4.0) will use pretty much any bowl gasket.
bruceg
My Crown Micro I just got fits my KM like it was made for it with a very thin silicone gasket. Edited July 24, 2012 by bruceg

Chreees
I use Mya silicone gaskets on all of my hookahs now.
packersfan23
Thanks Santino, I'll check that out. I hadn't thought of a Mya gasket. I'll pick one up and check it out again this weekend. I really hope it'll work, I love the way the Micro Funnel smokes.
Santino
Really appreciate that. If it doesn't fit, let me know. I'll make it right. I'm adding an option for a wider micro funnel, so a larger gasket works now.

ChicagoRSX
I know I use the thin Mya grommet I've bought from 5star and H-S.com with my crown micro, always works best for me. Like I said, maybe I'm taking the post the wrong way or I'm missing something.

But, to be 100% honest, my Crown Micro smokes like a fuckin beast. I loveee this bowl and use it to smoke both wet and dry tobacco and it smokes flawlessly. Not to mention it's just fricken pretty. lol I will certainly be ordering another crown bowl in the future.

Functional and pretty. <3 And since I have a job now, I'd definitely be ordering another one soon!
Chreees
I think when Mush said real he just meant the original Tangiers phunnel. It was the first made and will always be the best phunnel bowl you can buy. That said, the Crown bowls are great, and everyone should at least try them. I personally prefer using my Tangiers Mini Phunnels, but I have enjoyed the Crown bowls I have owned. Santino is a man who cares about quality, and I will always recommend his products. Another good thing is Crown phunnels fill the void in the market, meaning, the constant shortages of Tangiers bowls. Crown phunnels are the first bowl I tell people to get if they can't find a Tangiers one.
