Hookah Homes

Recommended Posts

Just wondered what everyone's thought on them were.

To me the look nice, but I am not sure they actually solve the problem stated on their website. hookahhomes.com

My hookah has fallen over twice, neither of which would have been prevented by this thing. Black Lab and a Drunk guy would be no match for this. One resulted in coal burners. All my other coals burns are directly related to bad placing on an over packed bowl or drunken coal carrying accidents.

Don't get me wrong they look nice, not sure it's for me.

HJ & H-S have them.

I plan on making a hookah table sometime in the nearish future out of an older end table. The kind that have a door underneath and are hexagon or octagon so it looks nice all the way around. I want to be able to have somebody fall on the thing and not have to worry about much.

Those look nice and may help certain things but dogs and drunks are hookah nightmares.

I have had a few drunk friends lean back with the hose causing the hookah to tip and spill the coals onto the floor. This hookah house might be able to help with something like that.

I have hookah rugs. The carpet burns that my hookah rugs have prevented would not have been prevented by a hookah home. Most of the incidents involve a splitting or dropped coal deflecting off the edge of the bowl and going wide enough to miss the tray.

No dogs at my place and I'm too old to hang around with people who are drunk enough to knock over a hookah. We usually pass out on a couch before we stumble around the room.

Long story short, it's too complicated for me to bother with. Especially with the limited advantages provided.

He could chew on the hookah home instead of your hose, so that's a plus!

Beautiful Dog by the way! He weighs more than my wife!

I think the Hookah Home can go die in a fire.

I have no respect for a company that has spammed us like they did.

As for its functionality, I don't get it. They claim it prevents falling coals? Yeah, I wanna see them knock the shit out of it with coals actually on the bowl. :)

Gimmicky product if I ever saw one...

I feel the same. I don't see any problem that this device actually solves, though I'm willing to be proved wrong.

I personally think they look nice, but I don't see how they could offer any real added functionality. I doubt they catch any falling coals. And they're way too expensive.

And after hearing that they spammed the forum, there's no way I'd buy any of their products.

I want to get ahold of some kevlar and nomex material to sew into fireproof hookah rugs. I was looking at my old Xbox the other day (not the 360, the original Xbox) and had a thought. Remember how the Xbox controller with a wire had a quick release? If you yanked it too hard, it'd just disconnect the controller instead of pulling the whole console off the shelf. Someone should figure out how to do that with a hookah hose.

yeah there was discussion of that a few years back on the forums, not sure if anyone ever attempted manufacturing something like that though.

The one problem I can foresee trying to make a quick release system for a hose would be keeping it airtight. There'd be no point to it if it wasn't an enjoyable, leak-free smoke.

It was a mistake.

i don't want to get in trouble for promoting products on the forum, but since you asked I feel like it is appropriate to respond in line with your question.

This is a 4 minute in-depth video I made
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83g-UcIhDeo

I use it all the time. I have two rowdy dogs that always pose a threat to my pipe and I take my Hookah Home with me when I go out to parties or an outdoor destination.

In the event that your hookah gets bumped hard enough for the coals to fall off, a Hookah Home will absorb most of the shock. Since the unit absorbs most of the shock, the coals will most likely just fall into the tray. If you hookah gets bumped hard enough for the coals to fall off, even with a Hookah Home in use, the reality of the situation is, the unit just saved you from a detrimental fall. ($15 bowl + $20 tray)

If you have a discontinued bowls, al nawras trays, or crystal bases it could save you from loosing something that may be impossible to replace.
