â€On
Contrary to the popular opinion, I don't think it should die in a fire. This thing seems to have always been about protecting the pipe, not your floor. Maybe their press release goes a bit beyond that, maybe even lies a little bit, but, the fact of the matter is that it will help, to some degree, with protecting a falling hookah, or at least giving you more time to grab it. Would I ever use one? No, I don't believe in hiding my hookah in a box, no matter if it's a nice looking box or not. Is this for everyone? No. But, I am sure it is a very useful product for those it suits. My 90 pound english lab is far too excited and far too large for this thing to stop his bulldozing ass from tipping a pipe. He just so happens to be the only threat to my pipes. So, not for me. Someone who doesn't have dogs or kids or beautiful stuff they don't want to hide and is just looking for a degree of protection from a stupid human error? This might just be their product. But, if you guys throw one in the fire I'll surely stand around with you and enjoy the heat. I always enjoy a good flame war

Stuie
I think HJ was an exclusive dealer for all of a week, then H-S picked them up. Question: If it prevents coals falling off, why do i need a foil crown when set up in my car?
Chreees
As we all know, products almost never stay exclusive to one vendor. But why H-S would want this, I dunno. Good point about the foil crown windcover, Stuie... Also, I have had my hookah fall over once before (damn cat, she ain't allowed to curl up to the hookah anymore), and not a single part broke (Al Nawras on that clear/gold Egermann boho I used to have). Who's tray breaks from a fall? Lol. You just gotta be mindful of where you set it (the one time it fell it was on the coffee table when it should not have been) and of your surroundings. Either way, I don't see how this thing prevents coals falling whatsoever.

Stuie
i get the fact that yes it may prevent tips, but i am just not convinced about the no coal burns. I mean let's be honest... I am gonna review the thing...eventually... Looks really nice too, but I have had several hookahs fall over the only thing that resulted was coal burns, no damage to my hookahs. skeetsak
I think HJ was an exclusive dealer for all of a week, then H-S picked them up. Question: If it prevents coals falling off, why do i need a foil crown when set up in my car?
HJ sold a few of them to HS I dont think anything but a foil crown can prevent coals from falling off of a hookah while your bouncing up and down and going around turns in a car. Even if the hookah was bolted to the floor, you would still need a foil crown. When I mentioned the fact that it can prevent you from damaging a tray, I ment that when your hookah falls the tray might get severly bent. I didnt say it would "break" the tray. The Hookah Home will in no way insure that coals will never fall off the top of your hookah. The Hookah Home is just a device intneded to provide an added level of stability and a sence of security. That is all it does.
skeetsak
Hookah Homes can also provide a safe and secure surface to smoke on when you are wanting to smoke on grass or gravel. I forgot that part. sorry Edited August 1, 2012 by skeetsak
Stuie
Skeetsak, I don't mean to becoming off as an ass, if I am, I apologize. Not getting a full nights sleep in over 11 months will do that to ya. Been kind of blunt and pessimistic lately. I see this is great for some, people that smoke outdoors, have morons for friends. Great thing. For me It wouldn't be much more than adornment. This product has it's market, it's just not all of us. Good Luck to you!
skeetsak
I appreciate the honest feedback from people. No product will survive or reach its full potential without taking honest feedback and building upon it. I’m just thankful there are forums where people can discuss products openly. I am also glad that I was here to answer your questions and comment on your concerns. Anyone should feel free to PM me any questions that they may have. I look forward to you review Stuie. dizzbizz
I don't know why people are so harsh on this Hookah Home. It does what its designed to do, which is give the hookah more stability. I have smoked hookah in a bunch of different situations where I wish I had something like this. Next time I go camping I'm gonna pick this up. Stuie
I picked one up. Mostly to review, but secondly my littlest one has begun to walk and like pushing my hookah when he sneaks into my bedroom. I do have one little point of contention. On the box it says "Eco-Friendly" on the front Just because you use recycled cardboard for your box doesn't make you Eco-Friendly, The product is still made from wood, but if it was made from Cork or Bamboo some other sustainable source then maybe. On the back, and I Quote
We Believe in Saving the Environment: With 100% wooden products and boring, recycled cardboard boxes, we believe in giving back to the little green planet that has given us so much.
Again not being a jerk here, but Hookah Homes is not eco-friendly, off setting your wood consumption yes, but not eco-friendly.
