skeetsak Posted August 13, 2012 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I have used another ice tip. i wont name it bc it isnt worth naming. they get the smoke cold.. thats it.. cold smoke has less flavor. sometimes these tips can get the smoke sooo cold that you dont know that you have burned the bowl. the flavor gets so washed out that you cant even taste or feel the scortch. dont waste your money Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Coyote Posted August 13, 2012 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I made one out of two water bottles. You cut it so that you have two spouts on either side. Then fill it with ice, stick your hose up one side and tape it in. I used a fancy hose. It was good, dripped a little and you have to dump the water out once the ice melts but hey, it was free. Chreees Posted August 13, 2012 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I wouldn't waste your money, man. Cold smoke tends to kill the flavor of whatever you're smoking anyway (IMO). And besides, you'll see better results by just putting ice in your base (although I do not recommend this either, because I once cracked a Mya QT vase by doing it due to the extreme temperatures). Room temperature water, or tap cold or lukewarm water, is fine and should yield best results when smoking any brand. For Tangiers I prefer to use room temperature water. Other brands I don't worry about as much, I'll do the same as Tangiers, or I turn on just the cold and use that. If you want to talk to someone who has owned the Mystique, though, talk to Pat (r1v3th3ad) on here. I know he likes his. Everyone's different. The colder it is the more dull the flavor is but thicker clouds, the warmer the water the better the flavor but warmer and thinner the clouds are (my experience).
