Joseph
Water probably isn't too good for the metal insides of a hose, if it doesn't dry right. I suppose I have never really questioned the washability of my hose.
mushrat
Unwashable hoses have a rustable metal coil to give it shape..when you wash it, the coil gets VERY wet, impossible to dry out completely, and rusts.Washable use plastic, stainless, or coated coils..ok to wash...no rust out. Krautle87
Could you rinse it out with rubbing alcohol perhaps? That could prevent the rusting.
ZAP
Err would that not permanently leave a nasty taste in the hose?
Krautle87
I don't think it would. It dries faster than water, which is why it's used alot on metal and such. I think it dries odorless and tasteless also. Just not sure about the inner construction of hoses, if it might be too harsh or something.
mushrat
not sure about solubility and things like GLUE holding things together.Better to go the extra cash when the time comes and buy washable. Then you only have to replace them if they BREAK.
