SundayFundaysTV
Last week Shiazo sent us a package of some stones to try out and review, they also sent a few packages of these new coals called Ring Coals. I tried them out and for a quick light coal, actually were not bad at all. They are probably the best quick lights I've had. Has anyone else tried them? I'll probably film a review of them and put it up sometime next week.

â€On
Wait, are they shaped like a ring/donut type of deal, or are they just called that?
Epoch
Wait, are they shaped like a ring/donut type of deal, or are they just called that?
They ARE ring shaped. You'll have to let us know how they work!
SundayFundaysTV
Yeah they are shaped line a ring, so there is a hole in the middle of them, they are quite a interesting looking coal but they smoke amazing, and I never use quick lights ever. Mush the stones are decent I had mixed thoughts before trying them, and they aren't bad either just no buzz, but pretty good taste.
â€On
Make sure you do a review! I would like to see a few more reviews for these before I would pick some up, but, for how often I use quicklights (mostly just when I go camping), if they are decent enough It wouldn't be bad to keep a box around. SundayFundaysTV
I'll film a review tonight or tomorrow night on them, and Ill get it up as soon as I can.
Pavo21
yah i have used them i got a couple rolls also, so...they are nice quick lights, odorless as well which is nice. But i left one on the stove for like 2 minutes...it exploded and ruined my counter top. Also a lot of people say they work for tangiers, i was using it for nak didnt work that well. but it was nice and did produce heat on steam stones also. But it crumbled a lot when i would try to pick it up and ash it. but a lot of people love them.
mushrat
i dont use exploding coals no more. And for gods sake WHY do we need coals with holes in the fucking center? i mean, we put our coals on the edges of the bowl anyways so whats the bleeding difference? KISS (Keep it simple stupid) has always been my rule of thumb.
Urloc
I have never tried those coals but I use naturals in that shape. They work good for me but I am not sure if the hole makes any difference.
SundayFundaysTV
I think the whole gimmick with the hole in the coal is so you can put it in the center of a phunnel bowl, but yeah like Mush said I'm pretty sure all of us put them near the edges. So far I have not had one of the exploding coals, but I don't wanna jinx myself quite yet. haha
Pavo21
They fit perfect on like a egyptian or mya or a #7 tangiers or mini or #8 but they are decent coals, best ql out ther for sure
mustang67n
what's the heat output like on these bad boys? I'd be worried about it being too much heat for tang
SundayFundaysTV
I haven't smoked them with tangiers yet, but I believe they do burn a little hotter than typical qls.
Twitchy
yeah ive heard some good things about ring coals, supposely there the best quick lights , last longer to
â€On
Hole in the center wouldn't do much for me, I don't poke holes over the spire.
Santino
I've got some I'm going to try out tonight, it's a novel concept, but the hole in the center is way too small to properly fit a funnel bowl, even the tiniest of them. We'll see how this goes..
Kathrynx
In Japan, we used ring coals at the hookah bar. Unfortunately, the box had the warnings of cancer and what not, they were advertised for use for the mini grills used in restaurants. I hope these are better than those.
