alex.padmore
I recently bought 5 boxes of CCNs but they dont stay lit! When i take them off fully lit and put them on the bowl, within 5-10 mins the underside is so black and cold i can touch it. Any ideas what this could be? Skoozle
Do they go out completely? Can you still smoke with them? I use CCN and they are always black on the bottom, I never tried touching them though. I'd say if they still smoke, don't wory about it. If they don't smoke, try to get your money back, i don't think there is anything you can do to save them.
alex.padmore
No they just dont smoke. Really frustrating as i ordered them from the states so by the time i pay return shipping and everything ill still be losing money..
Rani
Have you tried all the boxes? If you only opened one, maybe that's the only one that's bad. Also in my experience coconut coals always take a lot more heat for a longer period of time in order to stay lit. They just seem to be more inclined to going out. I find most naturals are like that. I don't know how much experience you personally have with coconut coals, but it may be that you just need to heat them much longer. If they're not glowing red deep in the center, they're probably not lit all the way through and will go out on you. And finally, depending on which vendor you ordered from, if you can contact them and see if they can work something out if you got all 5 boxes from a truly bad batch. At least you won't lose so much maybe. 'Rani
alex.padmore
I havent tried the other boxes yet.. good idea. Yeah i have quite a bit of experience with cocos, including CCNs in the past so they are definately getting fully lit. Ill try another box when i get back from work.. Chreees
Hmmmm... I also say try the other boxes, maybe the one you opened is a bad box, which is not all that uncommon (I've seen others with your exact complaint before). The real question is, why aren't you ordering Cocobricos??? Those things are the bomb, and I'd be ordering them over Coconaras all the time if I lived in the UK! Hope the other boxes are okay and you're not at too much of a loss, man. What site did you order them from?
alex.padmore
i couldnt find anyone who would tell me how well tang would handle bricos.. I assumed that even half a brico would be too large for a pico with noir. Am I wrong? If so id move to bricos in a heartbeat..
Chreees
Meh, you could always cut them if it's too much heat. I was under the impression Cocobricos were the easiest coals for you UK guys to get. I tried them and think they work awesome (Tangiers Mini Phunnel using Tangiers Lucid tobacco). Wish they were readily available here; I'd buy them all the time. mushrat
The type of coal has no bearing on the type of tobacco. Its a matter of hinding the proper amount of said coal for said tobacco. I always am amaized at how difficult people make this all sound.
alex.padmore
I'm aware of that but as bricos are about twice the size of any coal I've ever seen before and I don't know how well they cut I thought it was worth asking.
Chreees
Should be just as easy to cut as CCN. In fact, I know they are, because I remember cutting a few of mine when I had them.
Pavo21
Chris when did you live in the UK? But yeah I recommend using the other boxes and testing them out like rani said because they can be bad. Also they do take like 10 good minutes to warm up.
