Put Some More Heat On Today

Recommended Posts

I've always been weary of using more than one coal since I was always under the impression that it burnt the shisha. Since joining here, I have learned that whether it burns or not has more to do with the packing of the bowl than anything else.

Well, the only thing I can say is WOW. I pretty much went from a hazy smoke, to some heavy duty clouds. And the shisha had a more pronounced flavor - like I could actually taste it vs. just smelling it. I also found out that if I put a quicklight on a stove to light it and light it in the same manner as a traditional coal, it doesn't add any taste to it, at least that I could tell.

Only downside is I can't smoke for as long. Not sure if it is CO or because I am that not used to nicotine(still get that 'first time head rush' every time lol).

Setup is a sahara vortex bowl, some al fakher rose(really yummy by the way), 1 dodo quicklight broken in half and 1 coconara broken in half, and a cheap no-name hookah with the base filled with ice water.

This is the best smoke I've had yet :D

My friend, demonstrating for you all

Glad that you're experimenting with the heat and getting better results. 2 coals is what I use mostly with AF in an egyptian bowl (mix a bit of mint in that rose and I am sure you will love it). Experimentation with packing, heat and what not is a very enjoyable part of hookah smoking for me actually. I also mix and match different flavours all the time and sometimes, I get very good results. :)
