dynamicflow
First off I'd just like to say that there is an awesome abundance of information on this forum, and seems to have some rock solid members. I've been lurking around reading up for a while, and just decided to register today.I recently purchased a hookah on ebay (taboo, i know) But I'm on the typical college student po' ass budget. I went for the modern design in a Junior Hookah and I was wondering if anyone has/had any experience with them? (I know not to expect too much from it)linkage: Hookah The single hoseIt seems like I've been waiting forever to receive my hookah, and I've got some Al-Waha Mango ready and waiting for it. (Anyone tried this flavor before?)
ioannisds
I have what I believe to be the same hookah that I got from Social Smoke. I really only use it when travelling now, because of the nice case it came in, and its size. It actually smokes really well, but there are a couple of things that bug me. First, it is very easy to tip, as the bottom of the base is very narrow. Just be careful when you use it. Second, I really have never been a big fan of the bowl/grommet holding down the ash tray. A few hookahs work this way (as does this one). I guess it's not a big deal, I can just be a hookah snob sometimes . Good luck on your new machine, and welcome to the forum. mushrat
I don't think i've ever seen social smoke sell those. I think those are the cheap aluminum/adonized things with the funky hoses and weird ports...I hope I'm wrong.
dynamicflow
I hope your wrong too, heh. Aluminum wouldn't be too bad aside from the fact that it's weak compared to stainless steel, right? It shouldn't rust on me I hope.

dynamicflow
We have plenty of headshops and lounges that sell shisha around here, but very little selection of hookahs :-/

It looks a lot like the Junior Modern I have, but those do not have those anodized stems. Let us know how your hookah performs when you get it. mushrat
I recall people saying they were flimsy, Also the hoses I recall were some weird type that only fit on that kind of hookah, so you had to get replacenents from them and couldnt use a standard Mya washable or the like...This is all just my best guess from looking at it and I could be dead wrong and all this fuss willb e for nothing. dynamicflow
I don't care if it's flimsy, however (now that you mention it) the hoses do look thicker on these hookahs than most I've seen. I hope none of this is the case.

DizzyGuy
Yeah... it's getting the shisha to the same humidity as you are gonna smoke it
