Chreees

Thanks everyone yeah its my first expensive hookah lol. Never dropped a hookah but my carpet looks like it got hit by a land mine with all the burn marks are the mya tongs good? Cause the ones I have right now aren't good lol. Wondering if I should buy a new pair, kind of like the bird ones lol. Thats good to hear though that the hookah smokes good, been looking for something like this for a while.
The hole poker on them is fantastic. Other than that, they're just smooth metal. Not the best grip...
I hung onto a pair of mine, cause I actually really like them. Although they are smooth and don't provide much grip, they're a good length and are very solid. They aren't the best of tongs, but they also aren't a pair that'll make you think, "Man, I really gotta get me some new tongs..."

Chreees
What kind would you guys recommend?
These are my all-time favs. Great grip on coals (especially if you bend the tips in a tad bit like I did), super long to keep your fingers away from the heat. http://5starhookah.c...-Tongs-7470.htm I got these recently from Mark at Kasbah Hookah Bazaar (kasbah.us) as "Dragon" tongs. I REALLY like them. Has a locking mechanism on them; slides down over the tongs, pushes back when you want to use them. http://5starhookah.c...-Tongs-SGBT.htm These are Syrian bird tongs. Had a pair long time ago, sold them when I sold a hookah, and just had to get them again. These have a neat locking mechanism as well, except these have a little bolt in the middle that slides up and down to lock them. http://5starhookah.c...Tongs-BT015.htm KM Hammer tongs are always pretty badass. http://5starhookah.c...-Tongs-0421.htm The tongs that come with the Elmas hookahs are really nice as well. They're just sturdy brass tongs, nothing special, but still really appealing to me for some reason. If you are interested in these, call or email Mahir at NazarHookah.com. Yes, I own all of the above plus a couple others that aren't really worth mentioning... Btw, I can possibly pick you up a pair of the Super Jumbos in Nashville at the local shop. I only paid $3 for mine. If you're interested, give me a few weeks, as I'm about to go out of town and such. I can also get you a pic of the brass Elmas tongs if you'd like to see what they look like.

Chreees
K, I'll let you know when I can make it up there (it's a 45 minute drive from my house, bout 20 minutes from where I work) and hopefully they still have some. They did past two or three times I went. I remembered I have a pic already of the Elmas tongs: Here are the super jumbos next to a smaller pair Hassouni brought me back from Lebanon, for size reference. The smaller pair are about a third or so bigger than your Mya tongs. Here's a good pic of the "dragon" tongs, if you're interested in those. You can see better in this pic that little slider thing at the back that locks them. brookesaywhatx
Oh wow, nice! I like the jumbo ones a lot, the hookah lounge I went to a couple days ago used them and they look like they have good grip.. the ones I have couldn't pick coals up to save my life lol
Chreees
That's awesome to hear a lounge uses them! They really are the best tongs, hands down (I'm sure some would argue this, but most people will not!). Even though I have so many tongs, I use these 90% of the time, followed by my Elmas ones, and then the dragon ones. Bird tongs I use every once in a while. God, why the hell do I have so many tongs... I'll shoot you a PM once I'm able to make it to Nashville and hit up that shop.
Santino
For what it's worth, social smoke tongs are the BEST tongs I've used. Great grip, great length, and even has a built in poker (that will get lost after time.) Check them out.
sarahgilliard
Anyone know what type of metal/material the Mya Bambino is made of? I have a Mya QT and my friend has the Bambino. He swears his is lasting longer than mine since he claims it is made out of cast iron. According to hookah-shsina.com, both the Mya QT and the Mya Bambino are made of stainless steel, but in recent events and research I have found the Mya QT is actually nickel-plated brass with a chrome finish on the exterior. Any idea on the metals used in the Mya Bambino??
Stuie
I don't know if it's cast iron, but is diffidently cast metal. Could be steel or iron. Hose port and purge are stainless. I have a bambino somewhere, just gotta dig it out, but I am sure it's stout. Your Great, Great, Great, Great grandchildren can settle the debate about which one will last longer. On the bambino since the hose port is held in place by a 1/2" nut. It's more likely he will break off his port before you, but.... you REALLY have to try to do that.
