A good Foil pattern

Alright,So I have a steel cover that I can use instead of foil, but I just don't get the kind of smoke that I can get with foil. I was wondering if anyone has a favorite pattern for foil? and if you can, post pictures of it

the size of the holes and the spacing matters more than an actual patterni use a bent paperclip and try to have a cm between that hole and the next one

Do you go from the edges or just have a clump of them in the center?

from my foil experience, i start by making a X over the whole foil, then inbetween the lines of the x, i add smaller holes, closer together at the center, and almost none cloesr to the edges.

everyone has their own favorite hole patterns, and from what I've seen smoking with friends on their hookahs, it really doesn't make the much of a difference.. the size and amount of holes is most important, in my opion...for me, I make a square of holes in the middle of the foil, 4 holes tall and 4 holes wide. fairly big holes with a toothpick, and then 6 or so smaller holes around the edges.

I just start on the edge and go in a circle towards the middle.
