Desperate Times, Desperate Measures.

Recommended Posts

2 weeks ago, while waiting on an order to arrive. I was getting low on supply, but I really wanted to smoke.

All I had was 4 cocobuzz coals, a roll of 3K QL'S about 3-6 grams of fumari mint chocolate chill. 7g of fumari prickely pear and just less than 3g of AF Berry.
With some mixing and some very careful heat management I was able to have a session. Not the best and far from the worst but as the title said desperate times ....

Or the times that you can't find that wind cover ... But there is a monster can laying around, so you make one .... 👾

What have you done for a smoke session??

I was setting up at mother in laws house and just assumed that she would have foil available so I didn't bring my own.

I asked her for some foil and she imformed me that she had just finished her roll of foil covering chicken or turkey or something to keep warm in the oven.

Long story short: We had a berry + poultry session.

I always have my own foil now. Even at home, hookah foil is separate from kitchen foil.

I took a small set up to GA and forgot to bring tongs. Used my Brother's needle nose pliers.

Lol I don't know why but i love McGuivering hookah sessions.. The worst was probably no coals and no foil. I ended up buying a bad of real wood charcoal from the market and setting them directly on the shisha. It was actually not that bad! (despite it needing new coals every 5-10 min)

Everyone should be doing this.

All it takes is one afternoon of your wife practicing swan take-out sculptures and next thing you know, you're digging through your hookah rejects box looking for a screen.

Most people eat turkey and cranberry during thanksgiving, smoking it shouldnt be a problem haha. Back in the day when hookah coals was not sold as widely as it is today, we used Kingsford coals. It was a pain in the ass to break into pieces and would take 10 minutes to light, but it did work.

rolling tobacco and honey and glycerin. No heating, no cooking, just mixed up and smoked... for hours and hours, didnt taste like much though
about a fingertips worth of tobacco inside a little thimble like foil structure, inserted into a regular bowl making an inverted phunnel... that actually lasted me an hour, though it lost flavor quickly
a hose made out of 2 drinking straws and tape.
an entire downstem made out of stuff lying around and some glue, needed something really portable for the summer and it fit any plastic bottle.
using keys, foil constructs, forks etc. instead of tongs cause they were lost/forgotten somewhere.
my entire coal lighting setup until not too long ago when I started using the stove.

You would think it wouldn't be that bad, but at first it was like smoking berry flavor while someone was waving a pan of turkey grease under your nose.

Thankfully, the turkey flavor didnt last long and most of the session was just berry.

When I was in CA my colleague and I had gone out to see a band. On the ride home we realized that neither one of use had a bowl. We searched the whole van... so we stopped at 7-11 at 2am got on apple, made a bowl with a key, and packed it with Passionfruit. Stuck it on a Goza and smoked on the way home. It was great.
