insidius
Does anyone who lives near Tangiers feel generous? Maybe they wouldn't mind going down in person and shipping pieces out to folks that want to buy one. I dunno, just spitballing.

Nerdy
My order from 5star arrived today. The pico n shisha deal. I picked up the blue black splash, felt like the other colors were just too out there. I will be trying to get a solid review tonight or tmrw, after the haircut, maybe even some pics up.
dzigner
The Picos ARE limited... to John meaning in the time its taken him to get those 50 bowls after his initial shipment (several weeks/months) 5Star has restocked them 3 or 4 times so Alex can sell them cheaper in the packages. (Im sure its cause kris restocks him) UH and HJ are the only ones selling them bowls only even if it has the higher price some people do not want to buy 3 packs of tobacco. Given current tang stocks is the package worth it if you have to buy flavors you normally wouldn't or don't like? When HJ had his first shipment he sold them at the price people were used to for tang bowls they lasted a few hours if that he posted late at night sold out by morning some people didn't even see them posted. People bought multiples and resold at 30+. Some of Santinos bowls are 30+ no one complains about that. Sorry for the wall of text I just don't get people being up in arms about it buy it don't buy it w/e. but I also have 2 Picos and a #7 bowl so it's kind of cavalier of me to say. Epoch
I'm not surprised by the price. I'll either wait for them to go down, or just accept not having one. Already have bowls I like.
no longer welcome
Hey HF, long time no check in. I appreciate the conversation, the topic, the frustration and the support. It is a mostly supply and demand thing. There is one more factor that made the price go to $35 though. There was a lot of talk about people buying up the first batches and selling them to other member for $35-$50. The first batch, a couple of months back, sold out in less than 24 hours and they were about $18. This batch, at $35, is just about sold out. I even took them offline for a few days to just give others a chance. If anyone is as frustrated as much as you guys are it's me, oh and Eric, as we have discussed this. I would much rather have 4000 picos to sell you at a lower price, over a year, than to have the 50 that I got and sell them for $35 in days.

I understand the need for quality control, but at some point the prices could skyrocket from lack of supply.

One of the reason these bowls are in such high demand, along with all of our other products, is due to the high quality construction and "usability". Skoozle
I would imagine Eric puts a lot of effort into finding a bowl maker he can trust. If he just farmed the bowl work out to everyone in SD with a clay wheel, there would eventually be people who just make the bowls on their own without Eric's supervision. That would result in counterfeits which look very similar to Legit Tangiers bowls and it would be very hard to tell which ones were real (passed quality control). I bet you would be surprised at how many parameters are specified to ensure that Tangiers Bowls outperform other bowls.

[/quote] Oh I don't think quality should be relaxed at all, I agree. I'm just wondering if there is anyway to increase production I guess. Everyday there are more hookah smokers, who want more supply, if production doesn't increase over time as well, prices go up.
