Building My New Hookah

Recommended Posts

As some of you have seen posts of.. I have recently started with my next hookah build. This is a ground up, 100% custom hookah made to my likes and personal taste. That said I want to hear you guys opinions on what is best and will look best.

This whole build started when I ordered a vase. Now this vase is a 10" blue bohemian crystal vase with gold leaves painted on. http://imgur.com/3TfXM thats what it is going to look like.

My next steps include (in order): a stem, a tray, a bowl, a windcover, and lastly my hose.

For stems I have a few choices that appeal to me

KM original trimetal
The El Nefes Pasha

Next will be my tray. Now to set my hookah apart I plan to not buy this tray, but rather make it out of a middle eastern metal plate. Here are a few of my favorites so far

The bowl will come next. A phunnel of some sort. possibly the blue surfer alien phunnel

For a windcover thats pretty plain. It's going to be gold with some design on it. maybe El Nefes brand

Lastly for the hose. Either a KM beast or a Namoor long, wrapped handle with removable glass tip. Blue/black/white in color?

If you read through all that, what are your thoughts, ideas, contributions. After this hookah is built I will be posting pictures for all to see (and if you point me to a great deal or the perfect part you will be mentioned).
I appreciate all of the insight I will recieve!!!

If it were me, I would go with the el nefes and the Turkish tray.

A KM on a vase that nice is kind of a waste of a vase. Like putting a high end paint job on a work truck.

The Turkish tray because with the other one, you would have to drill through the important part of the picture.. the Turkish tray is more of a pattern than a specific scene. No one would miss the flower in the middle.

Bowl and hose; ehh, whatever smokes good.

Oh, and go with the el nefes wind cover. I got one for one of my Syrian pipes and it looks great. It's probably usless, but it looks great.

Chopping a downstem isn't a big deal as long as you don't care about it being irreversible. On a side note, I got the call from FedEx that the vases will be delivered at 10AM so you'll get your tracking for the vase sometime during the day :)
