mustang67n
OHHHHHhhhh FUN! My riiiides *in goofy southern accent like from tokyo drift* : DD 1991 Mazda Miata 1.6L 5spd Flowmaster catback dual exhaust KYB street struts (standard ride height) Strut tower brace That's it for the miata.. for now. Longterm project 1967 mustang coupe C4 auto trans 289ci "hi-po" all original parts all i've done is the bodywork and rebuilt the tranny so far. still needs a lot of work future plans.. SR20DET in the miata, or a newer NA 1.6L but with a turbo build, or 13b rotary with single turbo build.. still undecided Also plan to lower it between 1 and 2 inches (possibly coilovers, but need to do more research i've heard both good and bad in these cars) short shifter, some body stiffening and strengthening, SCCA approved roll bar. the mustang is on hold and i might sell within the next year or two.. it just sits there and I've lost my passion for it. r1v3th3ad
I'll join the fun my ride's name is is either Sherman because the motor sounds like a Sherman tank since the one accident or the shaggin wagon. I have a '92 Honda accord lx wagon apx 243500 miles and still probably has another 200000 miles life. I've owned it since a year ago August and sank 2500 into it plus what insurance did for accidents...new oil censor, new brake lines and bedside, new gas lines and tank, new motor mounts, new upper control arms, new tires, oil changes every 3000mi with Pennzoil high mileage 10w30 instead of 10w20 because mechanic recommended thicker oil...o ya I put a whole new exhaust on custom bc of being wagon...changed all fluids...did a lot of body work, POnting room first clean weather weekend...runs like a beast
Chreees
My name is also Chris and I drive a black 2007 Ford Focus ZX3. I've done a few things to it, but hope to do way more sometime down the road... -FocusSport cold air intake. -Custom glasspack exhaust I got put on at a local shop in the hometown (sounds exactly like the FocusSport, now called FSWERKS, exhaust). -Fabbed together an engine cover to hide the ugly mess that is the Duratec 2.0L engine. -Red/Black decals all throughout- replaced all Ford emblems, sidestripes, FocusSport decals on rear side windows, red Apple decals, and red MTX decal. -Painted red calipers/drums. -Red/Black car seat covers. -12" MTX sub in Subthump stealth enclosure with 450W MTX RTP202 amp. -Tinted windows (5% all rear, 35% front windows, 5% windshield stripe). Future plans are definitely a drop, new headlights, new wheels, possibly new taillights... Just need money, which means I need a better-paying job. CO_hookah
I currently drive a 2004 VW Jetta GLI! mostly all stock except for the tires and tint which came from the dude I bought it from. I call her Rivkah! For plans down the line, I want to put in a turbo, chip it, new sound system, and a plethora of other stuff. I just need the money. grock
Ahh I am jealous of that GLI, especially the MK4 models. Beauty. But yes, German car reppin'! My favorite. I am 21 now, but my first car was an older Audi a6. In college, I bought myself what I currently drive, B5 Audi A6 2.8 5-spd. Ive done little things to it, mainly because any serious engine work is pretty useless in the 2.8 engine. -BBS -20% tint -Muffler delete -Stereo completely done (2 12"s in trunk, 3 amps, new tweeters and mid-range in cabin) -And it currently has a Yakima ski rack And because this thread needs pictures...... grock
It looks like wildlife really likes your car! And on slamming the audi, couldnt agree more. However, its pretty hard to do with the 96 awd 2.8 model. They have coilover kits for 98+, but I have the first year of the b5 so for some reason they dont make NEARLY as many coil kits. I suppose it works out okay though, more clearance in snow. The thing is on rails especially when you throw snow tires on it too.

Hassouni
OK, I'll play. On New Year's Day 2012, Katie and I were going to get dinner - since she's my designated driver, she drove my car - a 1995 Acura that was handed down from my mom many years ago. I had been wanting to replace it for a while - I was really looking for a 1980s BMW Euro-spec 635csi, like this: But, given my criteria--excellent condition, dark color (pref black), Euro-spec, AND manual transmission, it looked like it was going to be months before I found the right one. Then on New Year's Day my car just died in the middle of an intersection while Coyote was driving. Not sure what she did! We managed to push and coast it into an empty parking lot, and fellow HFer Zildjian bailed us out, we went to get jumper cables and dinner, then tried to jump my car to no avail. The next day it was towed to my mechanic, where he fixed it - but this was the most recent in a series of fixes of ever increasing frequency. Then and there I decided OK, fuck it, I can't get a 25 year old car, I need something newer. I'd been a huge fan of the BMW E46 3 series coupes (1999-2006) ever since they came out, and thought, "let's see what I can get one for." After TWO LONG MONTHS, and hundreds of wasted miles checking cars out, I finally found the perfect one, after nine or so duds. It fit all my criteria: 330ci model, blue, real leather, stick shift, all packages, and in great condition (yeah I'm as picky about everything as I am with hookahs . To top it off, it was the ZHP model, the performance package, which was only made in the last 3 years of production, only for the 330s, and is about as close as you can get to an M3 without paying for M3 insurance or maintenance costs. So here she is, my 6 speed 2005 BMW 330ci ZHP: It's had a few owners, but the last owner had it for about half its mileage and took very good care of it - he did all the recommended preventative maintenance and replacements, as well as a few upgrades, including AFE cold air intake, Super Sprint exhaust, and a couple other things I can't remember. I don't plan on any upgrades, as I need the money for ongoing preventative maintenance and eventually to fix some very minor cosmetic flaws. In my opinion, the E46 3 series was the last truly classic model BMW has made before they started going hypermodern. Needless to say, I'm in love. mustang67n
AWESOME! I remember when you were talking about looking for a car a while back, i'm glad you found one to fit your uber-specific criteria
Hassouni
Yeah, it took long enough! It also made me very wary of the used car market - all the shitty used cars out there that come back with a million red flags from a mechanic's inspection, who the hell is buying them without getting them inspected? A lot of people clearly, otherwise nobody would bother selling them. It also inspired me to write these two posts: http://weballharder.com/2012/01/09/friends-dont-let-friends-drive-automatic/ as a response to why the hell people get sport package BMWs with fucking auto transmission and this: http://weballharder.com/2012/01/25/we-fail-harder-how-not-to-sell-a-car/ expressing my general frustrations with the process.
