i prefer to smoke outta a pico since i cant usually smoke for hrs straight

anyway when i smoke cane mint its unbelievable great smoke flavour last night smoked 2 rounds of coals was great.

but with other flavours i have lucid , new lime , horchata, melon blend when i treat them like cane mint its either no flavour wirth smoke or flavour no smoke

why is that ?

and i ve noticed this for years really i usually smoke late at night after work then go to bed almost right away usually wake up in the morning with a killer headache, anyone know why that is ?

It's because mint Tangiers flavors are extremely easy to manage, probably the easiest. That's why you're having so much success with it compared to other flavors. The other flavors just require a little bit more precise attention when it comes to packing and heat management. Keep experimenting and you'll figure it out.

Not sure about the reason for the headache from late night smoking. Maybe it's because you smoke when you're tired? I dunno, especially if you don't get a headache from any other time you smoke.

well from experience if u smoke to much cane mint, nothing will ever taste the same unless u break from it for a while, because its such a strong and easy flavor some peoples mouths cannot take it. Because cane mint is one of th stronger flavors out there it just kills taste buds, shit i've been able to barley taste cane mint sometimes from smoking to much of it. This is why people should not smoke the same flavor ALL THE TIME. because it ruins everything else for you.

that is all eric only smokes KP and ONLY KP because nothing else can taste good.

Cane Mint is very strong and forgiving with acclimation and packing. Try learning acclimation and packing with a Noir flavor other than Cane Mint. Once you have the proper techniques down you can use that knowledge for other bowls. Each flavour has its own personality... likes and dislikes, longevity, heat tolerance. There a few types of acclimation that are used in different circumstances, there are a few different packing techniques, there are various ways to manage heat... just have fun experimenting and getting to know each flavour :)

Touching in the pico comment. I love my pico perfect for that single session under 2 hours of smoke, but would it be easier to pack n have success with a larger bowl?

Btw: cane mint is lovely but is there an exaggeration with the intensity? The mint would hit me in the nose mostly and have some whole chest cooling when pulling back to back but nothing where it was sooo cooling that I couldn't take a full hit.

In my pico i get easily 2 hours and depending on the flavor 3 hours... LOVE my pico. Larger bowls are more forgiving though. and definitely last longer when packed correctly. At Eric's lounge, the large bowl's they use will last easily over 8 hours and the flavor NEVER dies. it's insane, really.

cane mint is great, and it is definitely stronger than any other mint i've tried (in the cooling effect) most of the time it is as you describe. Very noticeable cooling effects, but not "omg i can't take any more hits because its too cold". BUT one time.. when I had it in a HJ alien bowl at Pavos house. when it was packed by a certain someone. It was WAY too cold. IDK what he did differently, but I literally couldn't handle more than 2 or three puffs in a row.

Are you making sure your coals are fully lit? What coals are you using? If you are only smoking 2 rounds of coals, there is no reason you should be getting a headache. I smoke at least 2 rounds of coals every night and the only reason I ever get headaches are: not drinking water, using crappy coals and not fully lighting them. Maybe cam it up with one of us sometime just to double check what you're doing is all good? Anyways, thats the only reason I could think you would be getting headaches from it.

As for the lack of flavor, I had the same thing happen with cane mint, it's such a strong flavor it just kills everything else. Stop smoking cane mint for a while and smoke some more "mellow" flavors. Or, do the unthinkable and stop smoking alltogether for a while :o

Cane Mint is intense but you get used to it and learn to love it. Its also great mixed with Ololiuqui. Seemed like an unlikely match but it was fantastic.

It doesn't take much Cane Mint to make a nice mix. Sometimes I just put a pinch and mix it with whatever flavour.

I had this exact same thing happen to me. This was before I got my pico I only had the hj mini. It was my 2nd time packing cane mint, my 2nd time smoking anything tangiers, and the flavor and buzz and cloud output really knocked me on my ass. I could not take a full hit or even half of one. I had to put it down and lay down. I have never had an experience like that. In retrospect I would have continued to smoke but very very carefully.
