Skoozle
I started off piggybacking them but I found that the lighting taste lasted for around 10 minutes of the 30 minute duration of the coal and it was just more thanI was willing to deal with. After that, I just lit each coal on the coil burner. I don't think piggy backing is more efficient. At least not enough for me to notice. I guess with piggy backing, you use all of the energy in the coal as opposed to burning off some of the coal on the coil burner, but as long as you dont leave the coal on the coil burner for 10 minuets after it is lit, you wouldn't be waisting much coal there. Coil burner is faster too, so If you let your coals get too small, you will be able to add heat sooner. I guess that lighting question was unrelated to your question about usage. [/quote] No, this is exactly the type of stuff I want to know. I've gotten so used to using coconut coals, it's going to take a bit of getting used to using these coals. I'm not big on adding any coal taste to my smoke, so I will probably end up lighting off the coals. Thanks a bunch. By my calculations I'll be plowing through a box of 96 pieces in about 6 days, which means I'm going to need a lot of boxes.
Pavo21
well i hate coconut coals, i'll stick with my japs either hypnotics by starbuzz or easy-lite by inhale, coconut coals are cool cause the last a long time but i have no issues getting up ever 20-30 minutes to get new lit coals, plus someones always up to put coals on own a lounge and all lol
