BattlePope
Hey guys,As some of you may know, I was pretty much dead set on buying the QT and then getting another adapter for it eventually. Apparently, my friends are still really against buying such a small pipe though even after I told them that it smokes just as well as any other normal sized pipe. So, I was just curious if there are any other reputable MYA retailors in the US besides HS, Hookah Nation, and Hookah Company. Second, does anyone know much about this pipe:http://www.myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITE...EPARTMENT_ID=46I'm sure it's excellent quality since it's made by MYA but the only thing that I'm worried about is that it may be a bit fragile. I don't mean that it's poorly made or anything, the stem just looks really thin. Anyone have experience with this? Finally, just wanted to double check, but this pipe, along with all the other MYA's can use the adaptors to make it into a multiple hose hookah, right? Thanks guys. Muddy Waters
I almost bought that model before deciding upon a very similar model also available through their website:http://www.myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITE...EPARTMENT_ID=46(Purchased the chrome-colored base)They both struck me as excellent choices, but the reason I passed over the one you referenced is because its 29" height is too tall for my interests (carrying around campus/protecting against falls in large gatherings), especially once I put Tangiers new bowl on top of it. I've never had any experience with the exact stem in the package you're looking at, but those Mya Saray stems with the ball-shaped bottom part do not allow for a complete purging of the smoke in the base. The intake valves are positioned at too shallow an angle to directly hit the smoke in the base and consequently only the upper part of the chamber gets cleared. All of this of course is only an issue if you let the smoke become too harsh. In my own experience with these types of stems, performing several purges interspersed with quick draws stirs up the smoke enough to clear the harshness while not taking it out on your lungs. If you search the forums on this issue you will find other members' perspectives. I believe someone in one of the threads proposed using a flexible straw to effectively extend the intake valve all the way into the base, but I never found this issue bothersome enough to try.As far as the stem being fragile, it certainly would be a concern for me with other manufacturers, but of the several Mya Saray models I've owned and otherwise tried this summer, they are all manufactured in such a sturdy manner I couldn't imagine they would market a stem that is easily breakable. That stem and any other from Mya Saray should accept the adapter valve that they sell separately on their website. And regarding your original comments about the QT, if you can talk your friends into that, a two hose setup with that will almost certainly be on par with Mya's acrylic models, and you will certainly save some money. I've had two two-hosed Mya QTs this summer, and they've performed just as well if not better than any taller/larger traditional narghilehs I've used. Even with two people pulling on a QT at once, if you've properly prepared the bowl, I don't think you'll notice an appreciable drop in the volume of smoke. And its center of gravity is so low it is incredibly difficult to tip over. The only disadvantage compared to the acrylics is the QT base can break, so if large gatherings/lots of travelling are in the mix, the acrylic might be worth it. That consideration is what made me switch, along with the many friends that enjoyed the QT so much they desperately wanted one and I provided their fix . Once I receive the hookah and have a chance to try it out, I will post a review comparing it to the QT, so if you're still uncertain which way your leaning by next week, maybe that will clear it up for you. web250
I really like my QT, i feel it works great for multiple people, no problems.Their auto-seal extra connector you can buy should work great. Honestly, I'd try to convice your friends to go for the QT. Show them the forum if need be

BattlePope
Okay, thanks. I guess I'll just go ahead and try to convince them. Quick question, would you guys recommend either the acrylic or the glass QT over the other for performance or are they pretty similar and the choice between both is pretty much cosmetic? The situation above about not wanting the base to crack would fall under cosmetic.Thanks.
