moosepotatoes
Okay I have a problem with harsh smoke burnign my throat. I had it last night. I use 3 kings or Goldens coals. Only one. I was smoking Al Waha (doesnt matter anyways it does it with all of them) and it burns my throat, and i have to stop. I'm trying the foil rather than a screen tonight. Also. What is acclimation? I'ver never heard that term. Thanks for the help.
EvansLight
well as for aclimation, its were you let the shisha sit open to let it adjust to the humidity of the place were your smoking. As for the harsh problems, gonna need a bit more info. What hookah you using? How do you pack your bowls? Do you move the coal around or sit it in one spot? How long does it take to get harsh? Use a wind cover? Macho555
Acclimation is allowing the shisha to get used to your humidty. Simply let your shisha sit out for a bit before using, an hour or so. As to the burning, its probably just heat control. Move your coal around to get an even "roasting". Is the shisha burnt after you lift the screen? Is it sticking to the top? moosepotatoes
well I was able to solve my harshness problem by using foil. It seemed to DEFINATELY heat the tobacco better. I couldn't even finish the bowl I was smoking cuz I feel so damn high right now. Super thick and smooth smoke. I guess foil must be the way to go. Macho555
Don't rule out that screen just yet. I always get a perfectly good smoke out of my screen, and its alot more handy than always playing with foil if youre in a hurry. Its all about managing those coals. EvansLight
yea i personally dont use foil anymore, I might now after seeing the video of novi packing a bowl, but thats beside the point.Usually the screen. imo, works better. Just make sure its not touching the shisha. I can usually get away with, on my QT, leaving the coal in the middle of the bowl and never have to worry about anything till its time for a new coal. moosepotatoes
Well I used the foil last night and it worked great! But regardless. I dont know why I cant use a metal screen. Sometimes it IS touching but it kinda seems like I'd be packing my bowl pretty light. Like barely any at all. The foil worked amazing and I got realllly buzzed off and I wish I hadn't. I was able to smoke it for an hour by myself. Then my girlfriend came over like 2 hrs later and smoked the rest and it was still pretty good. Sonthert
It actually may be the same. Your tobacco in that time got used to the humidity there, just in time to coincide with you using foil. So it seemed that the change to foil made the difference because that was the variable you changed, while there was a more important variable changing without your knowledge. I like foil better, but if you get the hang of a screen, it'll work very well.
