ghostofdavid
While visiting various hookah websites for both manufacturers and retailers, I can't find only just 3 or 4 hookahs that I would be happy with. I would attribute most of this to being an American who indulges in hobbies a bit more than he or she should. So I ask you, the community, the following question: What would the ultimate hookah collection (all functional, of course) look like? What are some excellent smokers that are out there but don't seem to get enough "play" or mention? The reason why I ask is I am curious to find a traditional type hookah out there... I will admit, I think I more prefer the modern kind, but I would also like to have a nice brass Egyptian/Syrian style in post out when I am in the mood. Peace! oryon1033
I have two mya hookahs, that I dont think Id trade for any rotator or multihose pipe. They're not traditional at all, but they are beautiful and smoke smoother, and cleaner than any pipe I've tried.
Scarecrow
My local mid-east store sells the normal egyptian hookahs like that for 25$ Canadian for that size and 40$ for the tallest model. All 1 hose though. They smoke as well and maybe even better then Mya, but are alot easier to clean and you dont give a shit what happends to them. Mya is more of a show piece with too many parts, some of which are very hard to clean.
ghostofdavid
Which Mya are you referring too? My Mya breaks down into a couple of different parts and this makes it easier to clean, I think.

No decent brush will pass. But with an egyptian the center tube is just one long tube thats the same for the complete length making it extremely easy to clean. The Dude Abides
Hear hear, it's nice to recognize the fact that hookah has roots beyond dorm rooms. I wish you the best in your quest for a traditional pipe. I also reccommend a heavy brass Syrian. It'll take a lickin'.
Lund
I got three hookahs. I must say that the two hosed syrian is the one that I prefer. Absolutly beautiful piece that smokes great. The egyptian(? I think) hookah I picked up 2'nd hand does smoke great but it looks kind of tacky.I been playing with the thought of getting two or three, single hose syrians in the same style as my two hose. As I almost never smoke alone having a few different kinds of shisha smoking at the same time would be nice. Besides they look great to just have around. Lund
I have a local shop which carries some nice stuff from time to time. Their shisha ain't that good but they do have some nice hookahs every now and then.Once they had two dubble hose syrians for a nice price so I picked up both. Gave one away as a gift and kept one.The 2'n hand one I found in a 2'nd hand store for..I don't know, heavy machinery or somethingm, next to the staropramen brewery during a trip to Prague. The last one is a very small(fits in my hand and smokes quite well but not good enough for me to bother with, except when size is more important than performence) mitshiba I bought online (www.vattenpipan.se) when I needed some new hoses. MYA hoses are great btw.Anyway.In berlin there is an insane amount of hookah stores so I think I will buy one or three the next time I'm down there. More important for me to find good shisha though. But then again, there is always room for a good solid brass syrian or two.
