mushrat Posted November 13, 2012 Share Posted November 13, 2012 So, We see a lot of questions about burning bowls and often the cause is one of two things, too much charcoal and not enough air flow through the tobacco. I know I have mentioned this technique before but I'll post it again just to see what kind of replies we get. So here is the big test for non-phunnel type bowls. Once you have packed your tobacco and before you put on the foil, flip the bowl over and try to draw air in through the bowl. If the airflow is tight or restricted, your bowl is going to overheat and burn. Fluff the tobacco or even remove some. Repeat. If you draw through the bottom of the bowl and it draws like there is nothing in the bowl, you are golden. You can also do this once the foil is on and the holes are poked. Remember, if the air can't flow through the tobacco you are just going to char the top layer and its gonna suck.This is such a simple test, though messy sometimes as you get shisha juice on your lips, but it can make you session so much smoother. Been lazy lately because I've just been lightly packing Nak, but it's a solid technique whether you prefer to... you know. However you do it. To me this would clear the holes of any tobacco that might of jammed itself in there somehow while i packed it, and also helps to full the tobacco up a little extra i guess.. either way, definitely is a great gauge for how well packed the bowl is as well as if you have enough holes on the bowl Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
