Johnny_D
Afzal Silver Fox! Appearance: Rough Cut - This is like the shisha-in-the-hood. Nice to pack in the bowl Damp but not wet. Smell: Think... 'Mild Nahkla Two apples' Nice smell, really appetising. Taste: Think... 'Mild Nahkla Two apples'! Yes, it's very similar but with a mellowier undercurrant. Couldn't quiet place it. Damn nice. Smoke: Needs a little heat management. Thanks to the gents at Hookahshop.co.uk they recommended leaving a coal on the bowl for a couple of mins.. seemed to work fine. The rest of the bowl smoked nice and thick. Not the thickist...but nice. 8/10 Buzz: Unwashed but cannot rate the buzz [I am unwell at this time] Overall: 7/10 It's better than 'ok' ! In my own rating it's not Nahkla strawberry (Which is my No.1 ) But I will order this again. It's a nice smoke! Anise, red apple, mint, with an earthiness. It's one to sit down and enjoy. NOTE: Do sort out the stems for the best smoke. I love Afzal for two reasons. 1) No glycerin in it. 2) Flavors come with a distinct earthiness. 10/10....definitely a must try.

This one has more of a pure anise taste. Double apples is sweeter and to me the anise mixes better in the double apple than it does in this flavor. This anise reminds me more of arak. The spice, mint, and earthiness combine well to give a complex mix of various layers of flavor. Definitely can see big time anise fans loving this. I like anise but a sweeter anise.
