Stuie
So i was looking again since I am down to my last box. It's like no one has Cube Coconut Coals anymore. A Couple places have the smaller boxes, but no one has the 108 Piece boxes. Only way to get them is order them direct? Did I miss something? Where's the love??? And if the title got Paula Cole stuck in your head, deal with it. Been stuck in my head during my weekend search for Cube Coconara and Coco Mayazas! Skoozle
I get my Coconaras from a somewhat local store. Haven't shopped online for coal in a while.
Travis
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CocoNara-Charcoal-108-Piece-Box-/380511510629?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item589840e065 If your comfortable with ordering from ebay, there are still some coconara cubes floating around,
Stuie
I don't mind ebay that's a bit steep for coals for me. I am dropping that much I will go buy HC out of Golden Canaries.
Hassouni
I can send you a bunch of CCMs if you want, the local stores here still sell them
Epoch
Just gotta settle for the 96-piece Mazayas.
Stuie
I can buy direct from them at coco-nara.us shipping is pretty reasonable. I am just baffled why vendors have stopped carrying them.
Chreees
Wait, you're having trouble finding the Cocomazayas too? That's a shame, as that's my go-to coal... Although, I did find flat Coconaras here just a few miles from my house for $12, so I'm probably just going to buy those from now on.
funkman262
I used to use both cube and flat cocos but got better results from the flats. I read some reviews a long time ago about the difference in performance based on shape and it made sense that the flats would be better. Wish I could recall exactly what those reasons were but I'm sure a quick google search could help.
Chreees
I used to use both cube and flat cocos but got better results from the flats. I read some reviews a long time ago about the difference in performance based on shape and it made sense that the flats would be better. Wish I could recall exactly what those reasons were but I'm sure a quick google search could help.
There is no better... There is only what shape is best for what situation. For example, for a smaller bowl, you may want to use the cubes, because they are less surface area touching compared to flats. Therefore it may yield better results. So essentially you're using the shape of coal as a heat management tool. Some people even prefer to use the flats but stonehenge them (stand them up on their smallest sides). This is what I've been doing with my new Pico bowl- two flats stonehenged works much better than using two cube-shaped Cocomazayas. So it's just whatever works best. They're all good coals (CCN cubes, CCN flats, and CCM cubes).
ih303
So tell me, sir... why do you like cubes? Is it because they roll off of bowls?
Skoozle
That's how you know it's time for new ones. No more guess work.
Stuie
Less direct surface area. I don't have to ash or move coals for at least 90 minutes. That's why I love cubes!
ChicagoRSX
I'm still getting plenty of coco mazaya cubes-108 count boxes from my local smoke shop for like $12. Need some Stuie?
