I still think Elma's are a fad. They're more intricate in outside design, built sturdier, and probably have better weld lines....but, they perform the same function and can't do anything that an existing pipe can't accomplish. But, they're new and pretty....

Everything else mentioned is about right.

Different strokes for different folks. Everyone gets all up in everyone elses panties when they say something they don't agree with. Sup with that? I think MYA pipes are ugly, but I don't dispute that they smoke good. Some people like the way they look. Whatever, doesn't affect me. I love my two elmas pipes, but I also love my syrians and my egyptians. They all have a place and a time where I want to use them.

ih303, I was not around here when you were here, but I remember seeing your grape-a-rific avatar while going through old posts when I first joined. It's always nice to see new members joining and being active, but it is much nicer to see old faces returning "home". Welcome back!

TL;DR: For how few girls we have on this forum, I sure am seeing a lot of lady parts up in here ;)

Thanks, Mush! Yeah, I remember when that happened to you... pretty rough. The worst part about my deal is I'm prohibited from "competing" with my former partners for a period of time more than four years but less than six. (Have to cover my ass legally there ;) ) That means even though a competing lounge has opened up where I live, I am not allowed to help them. Good times.

Most standard noncompete clauses, can be bypasssed if the other party closes down, or if you move to another market area where no more than 25% of your sales can be conducted online.

It's limited to the county. But being in South Dakota, the only other city big enough to support a hookah lounge would be Sioux Falls. Honestly though, I don't think my old lounge will be around for much longer. The city is intent on shutting them down, not to mention the state and federal cases being built against my ex partners.

Also, losing the lounge really took the wind out of my sails. I was the one who acquired it only partnering up because I was in the Air Force and didn't have the time or resources to do it alone. I made that place successful. But when I stood in the way of them selling substances that violated everything I hold dear about this culture, they figured it was time for me to leave. And that was that.

Oh well. Water under the bridge. Even if I had the chance I don't know if I'll ever have the confidence to do it again.
