Another gadget.
Yeah thats what I'm thinking... Whats the advantage of using this over regular coals and maybe a foil crown?
Nothing. Only one disadvantage... Your wallet is $60 lighter.
$70 you forgot shipping.
Oh yeah, true. My bad. Gee, that makes it sound twice as bad...
You still use coals(2 coco cubes fit best) - it replaces the foil and windcover. The main difference I'm seeing (so far) is heat distribution. This allows the coals to be more efficient in heating and no need to move them around (outer to in, left to right, etc.) Honestly, I would love to get this for my friends that are fairly new to hookah, this would give them one less worry. Sadly, the price is BS - especially for the build. It's not one piece of metal if you notice, there are screws in there. That kinda pisses me off. Time well tell but I can totally see that (the screws) being a stress point and breaking due to heat. I wish I was a machineer, I think there is enough here to be a decent idea just needs some tweaks. Edited December 17, 2012 by squidget
HookahLover25
I bought this because i wanted to try it for $60, it's pricey. It works great, gives better smoke, flavor last longer, no heat management needed (for lazy people). Would I buy another one? NOPE! 60 for this is pretty expensive... if they go back down to 20-25 id buy another one.
