mattarios2
Has anybody noticed that the Elmas hookah hoses make the smoke drier, like it dries out your mouth and throat? I was just smoking some lychee and testing out my Elmas hose and I couldn't help but notice my mouth and throat getting dry so I switched to my KM ultimate hose and the dryness is gone. Anybody notice this?
Chreees
I don't recall it when I owned mine... Maybe you just gotta break it in?
Bawhee
its the goat spirit moisturizing from your smoke... give it a while and it will die.
mattarios2
lol yeah I was thinking it may have something to do with the goat skin or dogwood, I know the dogwood absorbs nicotine so maybe it absorbs a lot of moisture too
â€On
I get this all the time with my Elmas hoses. It subsides if you smoke out of the hose a ton, but I still easily notice the difference in dryness between a turkish hose and a washable. I think it's part of why I don't smoke out of my turks nearly as much anymore, however, with mint, it's amazing. It "cools" the smoke in a completely different way. mattarios2
Simple fix ... smoke your Turkish hookah w a normal hose I suppose. I never owned a turk hose until I got the 636 but always smoked my elmas pipes so it def is the hose creating the dryness and not the pipes. Hassouni
Yes, this is very normal and happens on all 5 of my Elmas hoses. The dry smoke is less preferable to me, but the pull on the Turkish hoses is so perfect otherwise that it doesn't bother me very much. This may be my imagination, but if you use the supplied tips, it's not quite as dry. Mattarios - you only just now got a Turkish hose?? You've been missing out! squidget
Aye - I have noticed it and it's the reason why I don't smoke out of it as often.

It's like a constant restriction all the way down, instead of all these ups and downs. But, it gets really dry here in the winter, so I tend not to smoke out of those hoses in the winter. [/quote] Yep, never really cared to have one, but the 636 came with that black one. The pull is extremely nice on them, but I hate HATE HATE the dry smoke, makes my throat all dry and bleehh. As for using the tips that come with the hookah, I agree, it does make it less dry, still dry though. I wonder if there is a way to completely get rid of it. Maybe I'll try using it in the summer when it is really humid here and see if i can break it in then.
