Transporting And Storing Hookah

Recommended Posts

How do you transport your hookah to friends places and whatnot? Also, how do you store your hookah, because I want to keep mine in our coat closet since we have cats and don't want to keep it out all the time. Thanks in advance! :)

Yes, cardboard boxes. Not plastic boxes. Not metal boxes. Cardboard boxes. With packaging tape holding the flaps together on the bottom so that I can easily transport them if necessary. Some boxes have writing on them because they were from when I got hookah orders in, some do not. I have three boxes... no four boxes I keep hookah stuff in. One box is the main hookah box which holds my two shanks, red genie vase, trumpet vase, both trays, two windcovers, and three hoses. This was a box that I received one of my hookahs in at some point, so it's long and somewhat narrow. The second box is my main accessories box, holding majority of my bowls, coals, tobacco, tongs, etc. Third box is a bit smaller and has backup tobacco in it that won't fit in the main box. Fourth box is my red boho, since it's so pretty it needs its own bubblewrap protection.

And now you know all about my boxes.

I use my boxes to store human bo.... Erm wrong forum.

I suggest plastic or metal barrels for that. Cardboard boxes get too soggy from blood and just fall apart. I know from experience.

I use duffel bags because I'm a gangster :D But no seriously, duffel bags/sports bags work great especially if you are taking various flavors with you and other various equipment that require additional space. Only precaution I usually take is to wrap a bath towel around the vase(s) and some bubble wrap around the bowl(s).

I got almost like a gun case if you will, it has a thick piece of padding on the top and bottom, I put my glass tips, hose, windcover, tray, tobacco, toothpics, grommets, and all other accessories in there.

And then for the stem and vase I have a hookah bag I got from southsmoke I believe, tons of padding so it is safe in there.

Throw everything but my stem is this big backpack. Everything fits snugly so I don't have to worry about anything rolling around too much. I just hand carry my stem.

I usually just hand carry everything.. And my pipes are "stored" put together.. in upright positions.. where i leave them when i smoke..

I don't like to travel with my hookahs, but if i do, I backpack everything but the stem, which i carry

I have a hookah bag but I never use it. Usually I will wrap things up in cloth or towels and put it in a bag. I have a padded carryone bag that works well for everything.

See, barrels work good:

Bathtubs on the other hand, do not:

I just cqrefully lay the hookah in disemled state on the backseat of my car. And make sure I relax on the handbrake during curves... Edited by Lebrancard
