Foil Question

Recommended Posts

I know this is a weird question, but are there any tips to get the foil tight on the bowl. I know it's practice makes perfect, but I just can't seem to get it tight without wrinkles.

Drop the foil on the bowl push it down on the tobacco, and then put your index finger on one end of the bowl and your thumb on the other end of the bowl at the top and use your other hand to pull down on the foil go all the way around until the foil is facing downward mostly. Then hold the bowl at the bottom with one hand and use your other hand to kind of swoop down on the foil so it wraps around the bowl.

Hope that makes sense :-/

It takes practice. Hop in TC sometime when I smoke and I'll show you. Or watch my YouTube vids.

There are a few tips to keeping the foil on the bowl.

1) Bring the foil down to the neck of the bowl.If the foil is stops on the bowl there is no ledge to catch the foil from falling on the tobacco. Bringing the foil down the neck will also add a certain degree of insultation (good for high heat tobacco like Nak or insulation non-Tangiers bowls)

2) Retighten foil after poking holes.

3) Poking holes over the spire of phunnel style bowls will prevent foil drag. Also, it will create a less restrictive draw and allow excess heat to escape when you are not pulling.
