DrSmokes
So...I have some Mizo Blueberry that no longer tastes good. It was great a few months ago, then the last batch tasted like crap. I thought maybe it was just the last bit that wasn't tasting good but I JUST opened a new thing and it tastes just like the last batch. Before it was full of flavor and tasted amazing...now it just tastes weak and weird. Almost like plastic or something. Anyone else ever have this problem? Is there a solution? This upsets me...I'm on my 3rd 250g pack of this flavor...it's one of my all time favorite and now it just tastes like crap.
SundayFundaysTV
I think you might have just had a bad box of it. I have never had a problem with it and I've probably gone through over 20 250s of it at my house since it's been released. I would buy 1 more box of it and see if you have the same issue just to make sure.
DrSmokes
Damn...that sucks It smells great...just hasn't smoked good yet. I've tried a few different bowls too, with different packing methods and I haven't yielded any results. I think my next attempt I'll just leave the tobacco sit out for a bit and see if that helps. SundayFundaysTV
Yeah thats a bummer, I would let it maybe sit out also and give that a try. It also can be changing taste buds, there are some shishas I used to love and then it stopped tasting so great to me, when I would ask others I smoke with if they notice, they would tell me it still tastes the same to them, so that could be the case. So I don't believe it is my taste buds...I've noticed my taste buds only change when I haven't smoked something for a while. I've had this flavor pretty consistently. SundayFundaysTV
Yeah I would say it might be just a bad batch then.
Chreees
Don't you wish you could just send it back to Nakhla like you can do with other companies' products? Ya know, that label on the back that reads: "If you are not completely satisfied with our product, please return unused portion... blah, blah, blah." Too bad you just have to deal with it. I once went through an entire 250g of Tangiers Lucid Static Starlight that had literally no flavor to it. I used it up by mixing it with other flavors just so it didn't go to waste. Made it "filler," if you will.
skeetsak
the first time i had blueberry it tasted like i was using quick lights... it was terrible. burning plastic was a good way to put it. i let it sit in the container for about a month and then I wanted to give it another go and it tasted great! try to 420 it.
Thanks! Good to hear someone else has had a similar experience. I've had it sitting out for a few hours now. About to close it up and see how it goes tomorrow. If it's bad...I'll just put it in the back of my closet and wait a month or 2 to give it another go.
Coyote
Sometimes brands other than Tangiers needs acclimation. Eric would say that all tobacco needs acclimation.
Bawhee
I will testify to that, not a full acclimation cycle, not always anyways, but AF and NAK can benefit from an hour or two of airing out if the batch feels off...
Nerdy
I have had this same thing happen. Well, sort of. I had bought myself 500g of Nak ice lemon mint. The first time smoking it, it was great. Good flavor all around and very pleasent. A week or so later I go to smoke it and as I took the first hit, this weird vinegar-y taste hit me. I tried to push past it, thinking it was maybe my hose or something. With each hit it got worse and worse. Pre-matured that bowl. The next day, I tried to smoke it again and the same thing happened. Few days later i have it another go, but I let it air out for a good hour or so and the results were the same. I ended up tossing it after no luck with it. Damn shame. BTW: I'm not bashing Nak, that have always been a staple in my stash. I understand everyone has bad batches. Coyote
Pre-matured that bowl.
lol. I don't know if it could be considered a bad batch if the first smoke out of the box was aight.
Pavo21
pre-mature is right! But idk i've never had issues with nak needing to be acclimated or anything.
DrSmokes
I've tried multiple bulls now...with multiple sessions of acclimation and it continues to taste bad. I'm going to give it one more go and if it still tastes like crap, I'll be throwing it out. One weird thing...it seems like the tobacco is "burning through" hella fast. Like...after 30 min of barely smoking it and just getting sick of the taste after a few puffs, most of the tobacco has turned black, hard and crusty (and I don't think I'm using too much coal...I have started with low heat and increase it until I get some smoke). mattarios2
Really odd, I have never had an issue with ice lemon mint and have gone through about 8 boxes of it so far.

DrSmokes
Like I said, I've had 500g of this mizo blueberry already and it was GREAT. This last 250g box has sucked.
Coyote
I know that it you put too much heat on Ice Lemon Mint then it tastes like lemon Pledge. Even if it doesn't burn the flavour changes.

Too much heat won't burn either but DA get super super sweet when overheated and brings out more anise, and guava can make your lips and tongue feel numb when overheated but neither of them will taste burnt.
