The Weirdest Looking Hookah Bowl Ever...it's Electronic

Recommended Posts

Hey puff patriot, check this hookah bowl out.

It's a pyramid shaped electric vaporizer that replaces the hookah bowl. Covered in weird looking hieroglyphs and shit.

I've been looking into it, and here's the awesome and the crappy as I see them (I need your help on this):

The AWESOME

The whole idea is that it's healthier than our regular hookah bowls since it vaporizes the shisha more than burns it.

And it's easy for newbs to manage, since you don't have to dance the coals or do much prep work.

And it looks cool as hell. Definitely a conversation starter.

And NO SMOKE. So you can smoke this anywhere. At starbucks, in your dorm, in a church.

The Crappy

The main setback here is that it's got no reviews. We don't know if it's glitchy, if it smokes well, or anything like that.

It also need batteries (although you can get a USB charger for it too).

And it's $36, which is a lot more than a regular bowl.

Here's the link to the hookah page: http://www.mychinadeal.com/Electronic_Hookah_Vaporizer/p1384527_7550581.aspx

So what say you, is it an awesome new add-on or a shitty attempt at novelty? Would you recommend it to any type of smoker in particular (I think a newb who doesn't wanna become a master would love it)?

Should I buy one? Would you ever grab one for yourself?

Uh...... Guys it's been around a while. We even have it in an old, old, creaking it's so old, thread somewhere. Oh, and somebody did try it out. Didn't work for shit.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was an electronic coal (I know there has been some but...) that would sit on top of the outside of the bowl like a ring and have a temperature control on it, which would mean it would be wired. Of course it would have to come in all different sizes but would be fit to sit on the popular bowls...like the tangiers phunnels, vortex, etc.

That would make too much money, stop thinkin' crazy.

The problem is they haven't made an e-coal that fluctuates heat temperature mimicking a coal- heats up when you take a pull, goes down a bit when you're not pulling. Once somebody figures this out, they're going to be making a lot of money, and the coal makers are going to be quite upset...

From what I understand you need an air flow sensor and a super mini coil heater as the two main components which in my research are both quite costly. I looked into it for quite some time ... got wholesale pricing on what I needed and it was super pricy even at wholesale costs.
mmmhm the only alternative i could come up with is have a coil keep a constand medium to low temp then have itsheat raised via a button attachment that can be velcrow to the hose and transmit wireless
yea you could do this but you also have the problem that it wouldnt heat up fast enough to really produce smoke. Really i could see this idea being useable sometime in the future but right now we just dont have the tech to do it effectively

It can be done effectively, just not cost effectively.

exactly, super thin super conductive wire wrapped a lot of times with a high current going through it would heat up fast enough, but it would cost too much. You would be able to sell a lot but never enough to recoup the development cost and sell it for any even close to reasonable price.

I've always thought the heating elements from a toaster would work well as a coal replacement. Those seem cheap enough.

But there's still that flow sensor problem.
I think you're over thinking it with flow sensors. I've often had the thought of threading heating elements though a ceramic bowl similar to a small crock pot, with a matching perforated lid. Instead of a flow sensor, you simply have a way to "pulse" the heat and some method of choosing the speed of the pulses. Fast would be inhale after inhale for example. Adjust it according to your personal smoking style and viola! You've essentially got an eternity bowl. Cheap? Still probably not, and still probably not an item that would ever be worth sale or production because hookah still is relatively limited in it's appeal and smoking in general is becoming a dying habit thanks to the anti-smoking Nazis.

I scimmed the thread and i think people think that this is an e coal. its not an E coal its and E cig that sits ontop of the pipe. It comes with flavor things that it vaporizes. a starter kit with three flavors costs 300 iirc.
