mjdx88
Whats up guys?! Been lurking here and there, work keeps me away from the PC for the most part. Seems like a lot has changed since I have last logged in, glad to see a lot of familiar faces around and mushy still swinging the old ban hammer! Although I havent been around a lot, I'm still smoking a few times a week, although I will admit that cigars has pulled me away a bit. We finally have a local shop here in central NJ which is great for quick stops for coals and shisha(only has AF for3.50/ 50g, or starbuzz at $20 for 100g) Its about time for me to pick up a new hookah and hose, I have a nice syrian I picked up from a member a while ago and it is now showing its age. I have also worn out 3 nammors. What is the best place to pick up a great quality hookah? Are the high end mya's still good? I'm also looking for a good place to stock up on shisha and coco naras. The prices dont have to be the best, but they do need to be fair. I only really smoke AF an Tangiers these days with a once in blue moon nakla, and the starbuzz acid line (love acid cigars). I see that HS were I usually do my bulk orders from is mostly out of stock on tangiers and has been for some time. In other news...for those who remember me some what, I am still installing and selling high end home theatre systems. I'm hoping to be switching companies soon! I will also be marrying my long time GF in late may! PS speaking for tangiers, I have seen a lot of knock off phunnels, is eric still making them? Any chance I might find a mini or an extra small floating around? The only bowl I use is my mini, I would love to have a back up to that. I have a large and XXL phunnels already, which never get touched.
mustang67n
Mya's are still good pipes. Turkish and syrian pipes seem to be all the rage lately, though. 5starhookah.com has been great to me. They stock excellent quality stuff and their prices are great, plus the customer service is awesome. They always have at least some tangiers and of course AF. I'm not sure where to buy a pipe, however, as I've always bought mine either locally or through people on here. And eric does still make his bowls, 5star i know sells them for sure in "bundles" with 3 250's of tangiers tobacco, pretty good deal, too. also, there are a bunch of new sizes for the tangiers bowls now.. everything from a pico (uber small, smokes great) to the larges.. 5star i'm certain has smalls in stock. Congrats on the wife to be, man!
Chreees
Good to see ya check in with us, man! Glad to hear you are doing well. Hookahs to own these days are: Egyptian: Khalil Mamoon, Farida Syrian: Al Nawras, Nour (even though Nour is just the import company, this is what they are labeled when they get to us) Turkish: Elmas, Generic (have to know what to look for, otherwise stick with Elmas) Chinese: Any of the Mya Saray brand hookahs (I'm a big fan of the small cheaper ones, as I find them to be a better value than the high-end ones) Glass: Crownhookahs or Fumo. Good sites to order from are: 5StarHookah.com- Better selection, decent prices, overall good customer service (some complaints, but mostly good). UltimateHookah.com- Decent selection, really good prices if you take advantage of the forum discount and bundle pricing. Excellent customer service from Neiman (I haven't heard a single complaint). CrownHookahs.com- Santino is awesome- EXCELLENT customer service (no complaints), awesome quality glass hookahs and accessories. Great prices considering the craftsmanship that goes into each and every piece. Kasbah.us- Mark is like a treasure hunter... He finds really nice and rarer hookah goods and makes them available to us. He doesn't have a whole lot on his site now, but keep an eye out on his Facebook page for new stock. It typically goes quick, due to limited quantity. No complaints on customer service. Hookah-Shisha.com- Still the H-S you know... Not much has changed with them except for the fact they bought HookahCompany.com, and is basically a clone site now. So I don't ever bother sending people to HC anymore (We still miss you George!). Good luck on the Tangiers hunt, man. It's been scarce these days. I talked to Eric a while ago and he said he's doing his best to correct the situation, but with certain people ordering mass amounts of Tangiers and having it shipped to other countries, it's making it rough on us here. Damn Brazilians. For whatever reason, they've seen a huge upswing in the hookah hobby down there. Anyway, Eric has advised the US vendors here and they're working out a system to prevent it and bring stock levels back up to where they should be. If you want a small Tangiers Phunnel bowl, the Pico is the one to get. I love mine. But I also love my Minis. My small I hardly use, but keep it around because it's an old school one. But yeah, you should be able to find a Pico easily enough (5Star's package deal). Also, the new Smalls being made are smaller than they used to be. So that may be suitable for you as well. But with how well the Pico works, and with how little tobacco it uses, you can't go wrong with it. Just be sure to "stonehenge" your coals (lay them standing up on their smallest side), as this yields better heat management results. Congrats on getting married soon! I got married this past June and it was the best time in my life.
mjdx88
Thanks for the info guys.....looks like 5 star may be my new place... im sure I can search this but is what is the difference between the tang #7, pico phunnels..... I have one of the 2nd gen mini phunnnels which HF and a few other places begged eric to make them again. Is the mini now regular production? I think i asked this last time I was around and the answer was super rare but the MNH Jet glass bowls arent floating around anymore are they? They were a great vendor I wish I could have supported them more. I'm stuck in a hard palce, I got a ton of cash right now from selling some stuff on ebay, I would really love to pick up a new hookah, figured out I currently have a nour wouldnt mind getting another, but I'm also looking at one of the tall myas. I want something that is going to last like my current hookah, used almost everyday for the past 4 years.(Last bluk order of shisha lasted me about 3.5 years lol not saying how much I spent then but the box was over 50lbs.... this is why I am outta touch on the current shisha prices and where to buy ) The all glass hookahs look great and I am sure they smoke great and will last forever.....but I do have a dog and the ocassonal party both some times lead to shorter life spans of hookahs and bowls if you know what I mean....you also get the ocassonal wound to the carpet or floor. Now on the other hand I have been recenltly getting back into cigars and got a nice humidor from a co-worker for free.....I need to fill it up lol Guess I'm just gonna have the split the two....or get some more cash. I'm pretty pumped to get married....the two of us have been together for 8 years
