I Am Trying To Find A Quality, 36'' + Hookah With Two Hoses

Recommended Posts

It's up to you man. I spend a lot of weeks with a QT on my desk and smoking like a mad man.

Large hookahs, I do use the tub. What I love about Mya's I can do it all in the kitchen sink.

I don't move coals often if at all but I smoke tangiers and Nakhla a lot, not needed much!

I'd say get a smaller one so that you can figure out heat management and packing styles. Then upgrade to a larger one. Just my .02

For height reference, I have a 32 inch and when sitting in my armchair, it's about perfect height for coal adjustment. You have some wiggle room, since it doesn't have to be EXACTLY perfect, you can reach down or up some with no problem.

My personal opinion is anything bigger than 34 inches is just too large.

After purchasing my 32" KM Trimetal I will never own anything taller then 28 inches. That is just me. I still love my KM but the fact I have to clean it in the tub because its to talk for the sink is just a huge pain in the ass (for me at least).

Point I was trying to make is... I love my 32" rig but because I have one that height I wouldn't ever get another one. Or even if for whatever reason I lost it, I probably wouldn't purchase another one that height. 24"-28" is perfect for me. Just my opinion though.

Well, shit.

From the advice of this forum I think I'm going to go with a $50 Mya QT and place it on my desk. When I am not so much of a hookah noob, then I will purchase a 30-36", when I am "Hookah Interemdiah," and then once I am "Hookah Expertah" I will purchase a 48", and maybe when I am "Hookah Inifitah" I will purchase this.

Thank you for helping a noob out. I appreciate that my first thread on this forum has garnered 29 posts; I have never done that before, and I doubt that my style of writing had anything to do with it. You guys are great.

From what I've read in this forum, the QT seems highly regarded. Is this right?

Starting off, I would suggest you try Nakhla.

Nakhla has quite a bit of variety even if you only stick with that brand.

If you weren't already a pipe smoker, I would suggest Al Fakher, but you should be fine with Nakhla.

If you want to get something a that takes a little more attention to detail, try some Tangiers Lucid. Please do us a favor and start off with Lucid if you get Tangiers, once you get a feel for Lucid you can get some Tangiers Noir or Tangiers Birquq if that blows your skirt up.

Keep in mind that if you get Tangiers, you will be better off smoking it out of a Phunnel bowl, but Tangiers Phunnel bowls are out of stock for the most part everywhere. If you want to go down that road, let us know.

Let us know what you are planning to get and we will let you know if any of it is questionable.

Ok right before reading Skoozles post, I just ordered a Mya QT and also a Mya "Rocks Burner" bowl (which, to me, looks like a phunnel bowl) because after some reading I thought Tangiers sounded good and read that it required a funnel-shaped bowl. Should have I obtained a "Tangiers Phunnel" bowl instead?

I am interested in Tangiers due to the higher nicotine content thereof. Why would you suggest Lucid first before the other lines? From this post for noobs, Lucid is washed. Is it still better for me (an extreme tobacco user) to try it first?

Thank you

If you are going for a small Mya... QT, Vento, and Mono I would highly recommend. If you don't need two hose, look at the Bambino, too.

Well a Tangiers Phunnel is best, but technically you can smoke it out of any bowl. Also, you're not going to find a Tangiers bowl for sale right now other than a Pico which I don't recommend for you.

I suggest Lucid because sometimes Tangiers has to be acclimated to your climate Lucid is much less likely to need that. Also, Tangiers has to be packed a certain way to smoke right; Lucid gives you more margin for error with packing so you are more likely to have a good smoke early on. Tangiers can also be a little tricky when it comes to heat management Lucid is easier.

Its like Tangiers with training wheels. Once you get the hang of it, you can take the training wheels off and smoke Noir or go for the Unicycle Birquq.

If you're using tobacco all day, you aren't really going to get enough nicotine out pf hookah tobacco to do anything for you. Nakhla and Tangiers Noir will give you a heavier, more satisfying smoke than Lucid Tangiers or Al Fakher. With Nakhla, ypu can get some of their heavier unflavored tobacco Zagoul and mix it in with some Nakhla flavored tobacco to beef up the smoke a little.

Ok. I just ordered every flavor of Nakhla from hookah-shisha.com (29 flavor) in 50g sizes. That should keep me busy for a while. After that I'll start on the Tangiers. Edited by HookahNoobah

Damn, man. You're going all out, haha.

You'll find that no matter what brand you try, there will be flavors you love and flavors you hate. Some flavors are good in some brands whereas they suck in others. You can find this out yourself, or you can poke around the reviews section. I tend to avoid flavors that get mostly negative reviews.

Best of luck! I hope you enjoy this little hobby just as much if not more than your pipe smoking. ;)
