Do You Use A Support Of Any Kind Under Your Tin Foil?

Recommended Posts

One of my friends said he thought that in the east they had a wire support of some kind under the foil. I don't know if that is true or not, but do any of you have something like that, besides the bowl itself obviously. And if so, what is the material and how is it shaped?

Also, if you don't use a support, how close to the foil do you pack your bowls?

The foil and the tobacco...

They touch!

My foil touches the tobacco no problem. The only time I've heard of someone using something to hold up foil is when the spire is higher than the rim on a phunnel

I do like the FSB thought because I can just pack it dense to the rim, right under the holes and then put the coals on. Can't burn it, don't really have to mess with coals at all...

However the spires are so inconsistent that its hit or miss when you order one. Luckily I got a good one... I don't know if they are still being made though.
