Basmatic
Hey guys, So I have a question about the tangiers order i received last night. I opened my tobacco and right out the package the tobacco smells great and seems smokable. Is this a common thing? I'm still putting the tobacco through the 4/20 process but am tempted to try a bowl. I read somewhere that if it smells right then your good to go. Still a tangiers noob so I'm not trying to mess it up,
mushrat
Ok, question #1 is what line is it? OG, birq. or lucid? Birq and lucid require little to no acclimation so it is quite possible it's good to go.If it's OG you may be living in a place where the humidity is similar to San Diego. Accimation is to allow your tobacco to reset to the humidity level of where you are vs. where it was packaged. If it's close enough the tobacco won't go into Humidity Shock and it should be good to go.Either way, be happy you don't have to wait and enjoy. :)
Basmatic
Thanks mush. It's actually OG. I live in Los Angeles so that may be why it seems good right out the package. I'll have to give it a shot.
Skoozle
I've never had to acclimate Tangiers. Don't acclimate it if you don't have to.

Coyote
Try it and see. I'll throw this out there though because it is a common occurrence: Sometimes the tobacco can smell fine but it will smoke with not a lot of flavour and/or the nicotine is not bound as tightly with the other particles (usually resulting in a major buzz). If you find this to be the case, simple stir thoroughly, leave open for 10-20 minutes, stir again and pack. Also, sometimes right out of the package it smells great however as it adapts to the new external environment it may fall apart again. It may even become unbound while your smoking (I've had that happen with classic raspberry, pineapple, and pink grapefruit). Upon first opening the package I recommend allowing it air out (using the method above) regardless. It can't do any harm.
