SmokeyWhit
Had this argument with a friend the other day and she said no. Ive always waited until they were completely white. Who is right...or does it not matter???
Chreees
White? If you mean completely ashed over with no black remaining, then yes. Not doing so presents a health hazard. So save your friend and set her on the right path.
SmokeyWhit
Yes, exactly. Whether they are instalights (yuck) or coconaras...I always wait until they are completely white before smoking. I must show the bitch this post. (probably shouldnt of called her a bitch then lol). Pavo21
like chreees said its no bueno, so yah just let them burn till they are ash, even on natural coals you want to let them have as little black as possible, because of heat purproses. mustang67n
what they said.. wait until they're fully ashed over.. it'll cut down on "smoking" headaches and weird stomach issues a bunch.

Bawhee
keep in mind that if using qls or nats, lighting them indoors will still give off fumes so dont smoke in the room you light them cause that will more or less negate any health benefits of waiting for them to ash over :P and ventilation is still important. Bawhee
well with qls for sure, that vile stench that comes after the lighting itself goes away but its not cool to breathe that air in if yourein a poorly ventilated room. like even in the iwnter if youre gonna be lighting coals inside its better to open a window for a few minutes, and then periodically as youre smoking every 20/30 mins just open up your window for a bit, or you could get headaches and shit even with nats. mattarios2
With ql's yeah, with naturals I have never experienced that but, I smoke in my basement which is quite a large area so that is probably the reason why.
