I don't know a whole lot about those hookah's, but H-S is a very well respected site on here, and someone will be able to answer you.A link to the one's you're talking about will probably help.If its a MYA, its good for certain. otherwise, someone else will have to let you know!

The downside to having a four hose hookah (or any multiple hose hookah) is that if you arent smoking with three other people you need to A) buy plugs, B) make plugs, or C) plug off the unused hoses/ports. I prefer my single hose pipes much more than my multiple hose hookahs(which I rarely get out any more).IMO, you are paying a little much for that pipe. But, H-S sends you a ton of free stuff when you purchase from them

MYA hookahs seem to be really popular around here. But honestly from my experience I baught a 17 inch egyptian hookah off of ebay and ever since I baught it I loved it. Hookahs them selves aren't like cars like you get this feature with this brand or this brand does this better. I find the only differences between hookahs is the personal asthetics that appeal to the person. But hey that's just me.

Mya's are contstructed better than most hookahs I've seen.

Some gas stations in Richmond sell hookahs for like $20, and they are sososososo crappy. Myas are sturdy and of a really high quality, and that's why they have the reputation that they do and XYZ Gas Station does not. Are there other brands other than Mya that make quality hookahs? Sure. But there are a lot of crappy ones out there too.

bad welding if any, leaks, crappy hoses, crappy bowl, crappy looks... etc. I've had a shitty hookah. Worked great for a month and crapped out on me. Weld joint broke, hoses deteriorated quickly, I don't know man. It was just crappy.

Quality of materials, the way the materials are put together to make the hookah, ability to clean, etc. These are just a few things of course...

the same things that make any glassware of cookware bad make a hookah bad. poor quality materials, not sturdy, poorly contructed, not airtight(wont smoke well), not durable(itll last a month or two if youre lucky) basically just a low quality product. like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. so while your 35 buck hookah is great im sure, you put it next to a $200 mya and see which one gives you a hardon first. i mean... is better quality. plus a better hookah (heavier high quality glass, solid construction, airtight, good fit) will look better, will outlast, and most importantly will outsmoke a poor quality hookah. kinda like yeah a 94 chevy malibu will run(maybe) and will look ok and is alot cheaper, but compared to a BMW or a Jaguar it just cant deliver the looks, performance, or longevity.
tu n'aimes pas les jaguars? pourque maria?  ok so maybe they arent the best.... but its a jaguar.
First of all, it's por que (con accento), Maria (con accento)!!!!!Jaguars get rebuilt every 50k miles or so. Great cars other than that. Just a bad example in Mya's defense. :)

Jag = Ford = Vomit... sorry, just had to :)Brand to brand quality (in hookahs and pretty much everything in this world) does make a big difference and not only have I read that Myas are very well put together and made of sturdy materials but they stand behind their product like no one else.

All the Myas I've looked in are made of aluminum inside, which is not the most durable metal. If the external pieces are aluminum, too, then they aren't too sturdy. Like crushing an aluminum can. It is alot cheaper than brass right now. I think. Don't quote me on the prices thing.

Out of a couple of hookahs I have owned I prefer the traditional Syrian brass ones. Tangiers said they were Nours I think. It looks like Hookahcompany has some, I purchased mine at a middle eastern market. They draw GREAT and are built solid. I prefer the traditional hookahs myself. These new hookahs made in China don't really do it for me.

Too bad im not at school right now. When I get back i'll take pics to compare my Egyptian and Mya. Quality wise... you really have to see the products in person. The difference between my Mya and my Egyptian I feel is the metal. My Mya stem is heavier and polished and was very clean from the factory. My eygptian on the other hand has a lighter stem, the metal is brass, had a slight nasty odor and came from the factory very dirty. It just really felt like the manufacturing standards were very different and as a result the fit and finish reflected this.

When in Iran i go hunting with my cousins in the mountains around tehran and during the trip they usually rig an old stem, old hose and coke bottle to form a durable camping hookah. It was one ugly mother****** but it smoked fairly well. A hookah is not rocket science its essentially a shaft leading into a container that can hold smoke and water. One should only really pay extra for external decoration and these QT things are a little too modern and plain to be a house decoration when not being smoked.
