StormVr6
I was looking at my stem and whatever is joining the decorative brass and "silver" pieces looks like lead to me. And rubs off like lead. So this lead to my friends and I arguing whether or not it's bad, even the submerged part of the stem looks like lead. It's a Nammor hookah I bought off Hookah-shisha, Being my first hookah I have nothing to compare it to. Side note, I'm buying a lead test kit to test it, I'll post the results here. Rani
I'll be interested to see the test results. Sometimes we forget how little other countries protect the consumer. Look at paint from China for example. Just because we wouldn't allow lead in a hookah manufactured here, doesn't mean it wouldn't be just fine elsewhere without anyone stateside ever double checking. I would think H-S would be very careful but you just never know. 'Rani

Coyote
They have lead test kits you can probably use to find out: http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1296037&cagpspn=pla
â€On
It may be an alloy with lead in it, but that's about as close as you could actually get. Lead joints are actually more work to do (by a long shot) than brazed joints, and I highly doubt people who are trying to crank these out fast are going to take the time to do a lead joint.
