Trouble With My Colossus

Recommended Posts

So I bought A MYA colossus and have used it 3 or 4 times now. The first time it smoked like a beast and I noticed this weird plastic/metallic taste to it? Figured it was because it was new and I hadn't washed it. Upon smokin it the other times its still got that weird taste. The stem smells like what I taste when I take a pull....I scrubbed it with hot water with the brush a couple times and idk if it will work or not

Anybody else have this problem?

hmmm...That is a new one for me. if the smell is in the stem it's possible it got there from whatever caused the smell/taste in the first place, perhaps something in the bowl.

I'd say check your tobacco, what kind of coals are you using? Are you using the Mya bowl that came with it?

Not me man. I would break it all down and let it soak in a sink of hot water and dish soap. Scrub with brushes and try again. Switch Bowls and hoses to rule that out.

And I doubt its the hoses, but Idk how to wash them out properly since they are so thin!

Plastic like taste when smoking tangiers? Sounds like burnt baccy.I have pipe where the stem smells. My DA pipe stem smells like well DA. So I'm wondering if you burned the tobacco and now that burnt plastic aroma has hung around a bit on the stem.

Cloisonne parts of the stem are ornamental they never touch the smoke, don't need to wash them, just the interior tube.

Right I know the ornamental parts don't have any function other than looking good, but if I can avoid taking the 6-7 pieces off just to wash the inside pipe then I want to, but if the soaking it will "hurt" the ornamental part id take it off, which I should have clarified I supposed

you can, but i like to clean the juice of the threads, and put plumbers tape on them to keep them perfect.
