azcoyote
Greetings all,Just got my package from FedEx today. Bought a bunch of new flavors that got good press here. Plus charcoal, tongs etc from a reputable online vendor. Not mentioning any names because the issue of weight is the responsiblity of the maker. Just because I have an accurate scale (Ohaus dial-o-gram) I figured my first test of these purchases should be a weigh-in. These weights include the plastic sealed baggy which may be 3 to 5 g. So these are NOT net weights. Al Amir Pomegranite.....................56gAl Amir Blackberry.........................53.4Al Waha After9...............................53.0Nakla Peach....................................52.3Nakla Melon....................................38.0Layalina Watermelon........................47.4Al Ajamy Lemon................................42.0Of these only Al Amir Pomegranite and Blackberry didn't short-weight me. A couple others are close enough. For the rest I was ripped!Buyer Be Aware!
Lukasa
I've always wanted to weigh the shisha I buy. Just so I can be a whiny consumer. "YOU OWE ME 8 GRAMS OF SHISHA MISTER!"
azcoyote
I'm not going to even bring up to the vendor. It's not his responsibility - although he can have more influence with the maker than I can. I just think it's bad business to short change customers. In my busines, I always try to do a little more than expected. Now I have that for my reputation, it's my best advertising.

azcoyote
I have an uphostery shop - I do everything from motorcycle seats to fancy leather chairs, boat interiors, etc. In my lineof work people pay a high price but they expect exceptional craftsmanship. And they get it.
azcoyote
I wonder how much dry weight tobacco goes into a 100 grams of shisha.
MilqueToast
It's a shame that most companies do short change their customers. Maybe now I'll complain to myself until I give a damn enough to do something about it...

azcoyote
Just started up a bowl of Naklah melon. Not bad taste so far. It really does taste like melon. BTW their outer plastic bag is only 1.2 grams Their inner bag is .6 so my net weight on this package is 38 minus 1.8 or 36.2 grams. This packet was short by an amazing 28 percent!Added after smoking for 20 minutes: Even two coal won't get me thick clouds now. I have a bad taste in my mouth from this s@*t. Joseph
Weighing the shisha was a great idea, I have access to some amazingly accurite scales, they weigh in grams to 6 decimal points, I think I will start weighing my shisha too
azcoyote
Plus or minus a gram - who care's but 28% short is outright fraud.

Joseph
I agree, that is bull shit, you should talk to the store you got it from. Even though its not all their fault, they are responsible for the the products they choose to sell. They should stand behind those products. I say you send an e-mail asking what is up with the rip off.

I will tell them and see if they do anything about it.

azcoyote
The al amir was $3.00 for 50 grams of true net weight is acutually a better value than Nahkla at $2.50 for 36g. A better quality smoke too, imho.

Johnny_D
This is very disappointing! However I guess that not all countries have weights & Measures acts ?However, if the vendor is selling within a country that does have an act like this, then they may well be responsible for ensuring products are correct (or at least withing a resonable %age) and 28% is way off the mark!Just my 2p.JD

ghostofdavid
A lot of companies include the weight of the package into equaling the total weight. LAME!!!
