Base Or Vase?

Recommended Posts

In Arabic it's referred to as a glass (in Lebanese Arabic: izzéze), so that's what I typically call it in English. Otherwise, either base or vase. And yes, şişe in Turkish (aka shisha) comes from shisheh meaning glass in Persian, and just refers to the water receptacle (şişe also generically means "bottle" in Turkish, and of course in Arabic "shisha" IS THE WHOLE PIPE!  :dash2: )

EXACTLY. I call it glass - direct translation of what it's referred to in arabic -> i2zaz/qezaz depending on how close you are to some limp-wristed metropolitan area...
