ih303
That's funny. I wonder how he came up with the name. I don't really see that bowl as much of a "predator".
Chreees
Is tobacco the prey??
Twitchy
Never really had an issue with foil sticking to the spire.... even still its a good alternative bowl since its way cheaper

joytron
Seems like an answer to a problem that isnt really there. Most Tang bowls have the proper spire height. Yes there are a few with high spires which is gonna happen with handmade products but the predator design seems like its come up with a fix for a problem most people dont have. Also with the idea of handmade products that I brought up, I see there being problems with the piece that goes over the spire. I can already see cases of it being too big and the effect it would have on the bowls draw. End of the day, just poke a middle hole. With the Predator bowl, that seems like an answer to a problem that really isn't there.
Bawhee
Its more of an answer to a problem that is there 30% of the time, and if its a high quality bowl then I cant see why not get one if youre a regular tang smoker really
â€On
If you get the problem where your foil rests over the hole, restricting flow, 1 or 2 things are happening: your foil is not drum-tight, as it should be, or your bowl spire sits too high. I'm not saying that this bowl is useless or that it has no place, but as an owner of a Dremel, I am saying it has no use for me. I've widened the bore on some of my tangiers bowls, lowered the spire on others, etc. and they work great. Some worked great right from the day I bought them. As this bowl is also hand made, it will also have defects and those defects will present new problems that also should not be the norm. You can't escape it. But, in my opinion, adding more complication to a simple and useable design to try and mitigate the problems associated with hand-made techniques IS stupid. Don't create a solution to a problem that is not the standard. But, to each their own. If it appeals to you, go for it, if not, don't. I won't. Nerdy
I don't get how foil would sag to the point that it would be pulled down to the spire. When I inhale, my foil actually rises up. Saggy foil has never been an issue.
Chreees
On all of my legit Tangiers Phunnel bowls, foil drag has never once been an issue. On my Kasbah Male Funnel bowl, however, I did have the problem when I was not smoking Tangiers. I pack Tangiers tight enough so where it doesn't allow the foil to sit on that bowl. Whatever else I was packing in that bowl (I think it was Fumari Blueberry Muffin, IIRC), it was a light pack so my draw was horrendous. I solved the issue by dumping the tobacco in one of my Tangiers Mini Phunnels and using the adapter I made for my Tokel Turkish Canary hookah. Santino
Maybe it's just me, but branding means a lot to me. When I heard about this bowl (and, subsequently, every time I hear about it now), I think of a fat guy in sweat pants with a big belly hanging out and a pencil moustache, hanging out by his mid 80's Van-Amera van with a teardrop window in the back and an airbrushed mural of unicorns and jesus riding a dragon while holding a flaming sword and rainbows and galaxies and shit. I don't want to smoke from that. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for that.

That_guy
If you guys have any questions, please ask me! I make it :P . I made it because what I noticed is that a lot of the time I like a wider draw so I would put a poker in between the bowl and the spire to prop up the foil..... This bowl is meant to keep the foil away from the spire thus creating better airflow. As previously stated, I smoke a lot of Tangiers and can guarantee that the materials used are either better than or exactly what Tangiers uses. dreamyxcupcakes
I only have 1 bowl that I have ever run into that issue its a mini and the spire it too high and im too lazy to fix it. In any case i just slide a toothpick in to prop it up. Once im near the middle of the first round of coals i just slide it out and its fine the rest of the session.
